About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be a world citizen (well I'm too short to be an air hostess)

ABOUT ME

I think of myself as just a normal down-to-earth girl, but I do tend to do extraordinary things (like moving to a strange country with a broken leg). I like to have a good time and I laugh at myself most of the time. I also want to be famous in my next life (and that I guess says it all).

I am a proudly South African product. My friends would describe me as an extrovert who is open to new experiences, caring, fun-loving, free-spirited, spontaneous - a living-life-to the fullest kind of girl.

I have previously lived in London, UK and also taught English in Seoul, South Korea and until September 2017, I was based in Johannesburg, South Africa where I worked at a pay-TV company as a Public Relations Specialist. Now, I'm living in Brussels, Belgium and Europe is my playground.

Being quite the globetrotter, I like to fully immerse myself in the local lifestyle while on vacation. I soak up the culture and the languages and the habits of the local residents. I usually have a very laid-back approach, so I take things slow, I do not rush, I linger...longer. I consider myself quite the foodie, so for most of my holiday, I will sample the local cuisine and the local wines. I also travel alone mostly, so I try to make as many new friends as possible.

PHILOSOPHY

This question keeps me awake every night. Haven't figured it out yet. But for now, I'm living life to its fullest!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had my first Couchsurfing experience 5-8 October 2006 in Busan, Korea and it was amazing. Thanks to Eric Spence who showed me and my flatmate the best time. It was so much more than we expected. Since then, I've met amazing friends and shared some incredible experiences with friendly strangers around the world.

Interests

Definitely not Politics, though I do like to joke about it.
Travelling, hanging out with friends, food (cooking and sampling), drinking wine while talking someone's head off, laughing, writing, a good read, meeting new people and listening to their stories...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went on a tour around Europe in the summer of 2005 and saw the "Blue Grotto" in Italy, just off the Isle of Capri. Its the most beautiful sight I've ever seen (and I'm not even a fan of the water).
