HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like to help people getting an idea of what Amsterdam is all about, at least through my eyes. Also, hope to find like-minded people in other countries who will help me see their home town behind the surface.

My interest are mainly music, cinema.. Im very interested in other cultures, gettin to know other people and finding out how big (or tiny) differences really are, worldwide..

Now we're talkin; a lot of movies.. Amores Perros, Crash, Mar Adentro, Abre los Ojos, Godfather Trilogy, Lock, stock & two smokin barrels, Cidade de Deus, 21 Grams, The diving bell and the butterfly, Le premier jour du reste de ta vie, Time of the Gypsies.. I can go on but i'll give it a rest.. But if I may add some television: The Wire, Cidade dos Homens!

Music? Anything that's good, 'Musica Mestiza'(Ozomatli, Sergent Garcia) Salsa (Celia Cruz, Ruben Blades, Hector Lavoe, Pupy y los que son son, La 33, La Excelencia, Los Van Van) Soul (Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway, Van Hunt, Mary J. Blige) Hip Hop(Orishas, Black Eyed Peas and Spearhead, back in the days) The list is long; James Brown, Bootsy Collins, José James, Raoul Midón, Amy Winehouse, Goran Bregovic, Calle 13, Maná, Polo Montañez, Tito Puente, Eddie Palmieri, Silvio Rodriguez, Seu Jorge. A lot of jazz, funk.. Let's stop the list for now, but always a favourite subject..

Reading: 'A man', by Oriana Fallaci and 'One hundred years of solitude' by Gabriel Garcia Marquez stand out above all but there's much more: The Shadow of the Wind, The Kite Runner and recently very impressed by Night train to Lisbon.. Oh, and loads of articles..
