ABOUT ME

we are a couple from cleveland, ohio currently residing just outside new Haven, ct in the beach town, Milford. we are open minded to just about everything and are easily amused. learning, exploring, finding, traveling, mischief, trying new things/foods, meeting people, partying, all kinds of music, dancing, riding bikes. good beer. and stupid spicy foods.

being nice for no good reason.

PHILOSOPHY

i can't think of a more appropriate philosophy for this site than the ethic of reciprocity or the golden rule: do to others what you would like to be done to you. and do not do to others what you would not like done to you.

aside from that, i think there's nothing more important than to use this time gather and refine the energies of the soul until they are pure as the original force while fitting in as much love and good times as possible. ;)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We let people sleep at our house. We sleep at peoples houses who let us. Meet up for CS events. Gossip on the boards. Keep in contact with people we've met.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

a lot of couchsurfing. CSer since 06 and surfed around a lot in my teens.

simultaneously hosted 2 groups for a total of 6 couchsurfers at one time in my extremely small apt. shared with two other roommates in little italy of cleveland... We had two germans, a french guy, a couple of spaniards and an american. it was so wild that a reporter for Cleveland Magazine came and followed us around for a night of international mayhem.

we both get a long best with passionate people who are adventurous and open minded. people sharing their thoughts on the future, past, present, a/politics, culture, economics, jazz, art. the singularity, japan, china, south america, guitar, musicology, winning the lottery, sciences, libraries, mass transit systems. mycology, good food. bad food. history, language. religions. the internet. DIY projects. rites of passage. exercise. good beer. piss beer. love, hip hop, science, gardening, herbs, shamans, DNA origami, space, time, and the ocean.

I'm down with all kinds of music/sound -folk, african rhythms and melodies, jazz, hip hop, all forms of electronically made music, Night SLUGS and UK bass, meditational music, gospel, anything from another country (especially azerbajahn, india, and old Spain), appalachian hoe-downs. prince. beethoven, coltrane, srinivas. hendrix. bach. autechre. ellington. pops. Jing likes anything that makes her dance and old chinese music.

movies: criterion classics, twin peaks, all about lili chou chou, the shining, eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, breathless, six feet under, stardust memories, buffalo 66, the killing, jazz on a summers day, game of thrones, ricky gervais show, the office (UK), clockwork orange, oldboy, sympathy for mr. vengance, taxi driver, deer hunter, true romance, the truman show, terminator 2, turtles can fly, city of god, godfather, devils playground, apacolypto, apocalypse now, vivek, documentaries of all kinds. i enjoy conspiracy stuff as well.

books: murakami,modern mind, quins shanghai circus, franny and zooey, a clockwork orange, journey to ixtalan, kakfa, thomas mann, hesse, 1984, the creators, history, philosophy, giant robot, theme, books about nature and history. a street car named desire, the great gatsby, and the chronicles of narnia. cabinet, beautiful/decay. pop science.
