About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Work & save money --> Move across the Atlantic to study --> Visit my CS friends

ABOUT ME

I'm a student-writer-bibliophile-adventurer, now living back in the US of A. I recently graduated from GCSU with degrees in English lit and French. I have postponed my graduate school plans in lieu of a real job which found its way to me. I work for the federal government helping people in SSA's welfare disability program. It is an interesting and challenging job that pays the bills while I'm living here in Milledgeville. I am still planning to further my studies in the field of linguistics. It's a subject I am most passionate and geeky over.

My boyfriend Spencer and I have big traveling plans for the future. He is also a literature student and plans to further his studies in comparative literature. We would love to move back to Europe to study our respective subjects.

PHILOSOPHY

all you need is [+]

I know it's pretty basic, but I just try to do good and see the good in people whenever possible.

I would love to elaborate more on my personal philosophy (and hear about yours) in person and over coffee/earl grey with lemon/wine/Rivella bleu. :-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting, being hosted, and going to parties.

I would like to work on making CS more known in this area, and I am pleasantly surprised with the interest in CS that I've found since moving back to the US.

Music, Movies, and Books

according to itunes, i really like coco rosie, radiohead, liricas analas, ariane moffatt, klee, the teenagers, the antlers, wilco, modest mouse, no kids, azure ray, beirut, final fantasy...and a lot more.

My recently played songs:

according to my bookshelves, i like alain de botton, james joyce, alexander durrell, flannery o'connor, gabriel garcia marquez, milan kundera, chuck palahnuik, anthony burgess, doris lessing, marjane satrapi...and harry potter.

i am so bad about keeping up with movies these days, but i love wes anderson, foreign films, and your typical quirky art film.

and, this is also something we should talk about in person, over coffee.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The stars on the beach at Cape San Blas, FL are the brightest and most beautiful I've ever seen. I feel I could live in Mont St. Michel, it is so absolutely breathtaking...well minus the tourists and tourist attraction parts. New Year's in Paris. The Swiss Alps were definitely an experience. And hiking them. I want to live in a my own snowy Swiss village one day. I love the piazzas of Roma, the canals (and their respective bridges) in Amsterdam, the South Bank in London, and my family's spring pond at home in Georgia. And I'm looking forward to constantly adding to this section!
