PHILOSOPHY

I don't consciously try to follow any particular philosophy (I don't think I'd be any good at that), but there are some general points that are usually kept somewhat operational in the mid levels of consciousness. Here are the ones I can think of (in no particular order):

Pay attention, ask questions, and take notes.
Try it. You might like it.
On balance, try to be a net gain in any situation.
Do no harm.
If you must, do so with overwhelming force and a clear exit strategy.
If you do fuck up, stand up and take the bullet. No one wants to listen to excuses and besides, it probably doesn't matter anyway.
Be honest and sincere, even if you must lie.
As far as anyone knows we only get one shot at life so make it fun. Technically, everything is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Be polite. It makes such a difference.
Make sure you always care for something else or another living thing. It could be a plant, it could be a pet, it could be a relative. It can't be your car or your board or your shoes (which should be reasonably but not obsessively well polished).
Play regularly.
Ride regularly.
Try to read more.
Fuck'em if they can't take a joke.

Interests

Lots, lots, lots. This is an open-ended list! I enjoy discovering new cultures, new people, acknowledge & appreciate others from all backgrounds.
Recently, I've shifted from bodyboarding to kiteboarding, with the Mediterranean being not so often hit with nice wave trains, and my relocating to the windy city Montpellier for a job which I value highly.
I am now working as a life cycle engineer for a French research organization on sustainable Land and Water management. I find often more questions than answers but I am lucky that this quite recent branch of science (Life Cycle Analysis) is looking actually at helping solve problems by envisioning them in a wider perspective. System boundaries: the planet. Preventing from burden/pollution shifting.

Teach, Learn, Share

Can teach how to foot-brake while longskating at moderate speed. But I may not be able to prevent you from falling though.
I'm keen to teach you the view from a life cycle perspective, which is a kind of holistic thinking. It's my job, and I find it interesting to share these ideas, since we are all functioning in systems, be it human societies or ecosystems.

I share the pleasants moments in life as they come to me. I'd love to hear what you call beautiful and driving in your life, and remember what's worth remembering. .
