About Me

ABOUT ME

i spent my younger school days suffocated by a claustrophic, homogenous and stagnant educational environment, until i was liberated at age 11 by enrolling in a progressive, loving, and (for lack of a better word) hippie middle school. four times a year, we left the classrooms and biked around the country with our friends and teachers. we called it the biking-est school in america. this was not a purely academic education... instead, the school taught me to be open to learning in any capacity... through books, through the people i meet, through the places i see, through the cultures that i experience, through the happiest moments, through the toughest; through humor, through pain, through love, through respect and gratitude, through the outdoors and nature, through the most complex relationships in my life and through the most simple yet beautiful things that i encounter every day. i learned how to be receptive to the world that im a part of, receptive to all the stimulants around me, to the people, places, and things that i have contact with. my friends from that school are still my very best friends today, because we have shared the most formative years of our lives together, learning how to see the world in all its beauty and how to share this with the people we love.

i have been a dancer my whole life and i love surrounding myself with creative people and creative energy. most of my friends are artists in some way or another. i studied art history and spanish at university, but i never knew what i wanted to do with my degree. i woke up one day in the middle of my last year of studies and realized i wanted to become a film editor (that sounds really random but it was always a hobby of mine). i spent the year after college living in barcelona, taking post production classes and working. and now i'm in LA working in post production, with a bit less time to travel than i'd like!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

i've found many of my own values echoed within the couchsurfing philosophy, and i am so excited to help this community continue to grow by spreading the word to similar minded people.

just a note - if you'd like to meet for a drink or couchsurf with me, i'd love to know a little about you as well as why you've chosen to write me in particular! i get a lot of messages and the ones that seem personal really stand out and make me smile... i hope that makes sense!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i couchsurfed for the first few times while traveling through europe in the summer of 2007, but i was only able to host a few people in spain due to my shared apartment. i've had some great experiences and made lasting friendships simply meeting people for lunch!
