ABOUT ME

I’m versatile, requiring both city life and nature to be content. I can equally enjoy dancing, a movie or art show as much as camping or trekking. I like to have my hands in everything, but realize there is a limit on my time.

My personality type would be INTJ, if you're interested in that sort of thing. I like being passionate and nerdy about stuff. Outgoing, opinionated, active, cynical and optimistic, intellectual, sarcastic, receptive, compassionate, curious, snarky and greatly appreciate the absurd (psst.. some of this may not be true at all).

I love languages, linguistics, and accents. I wish I were better at retaining foreign vocabulary, but I just fixate on weird grammar and etymology. Most recently, I tried learning French, but I got caught up in all the (rrrridiculous) verb conjugation and structuring and didn't end up learning all that much. Trying to be more practical with theory.

I love working out and keeping fit. Used to play sports but now it's mostly calisthenics and yoga. And of course, sailing, surfing, swimming... I could be a beach bum every day of my life and not get bored.

CS has been a wonderful learning experience in life. I have met some of the most interesting people through this site and I'll always remember the journeys I have embarked upon because of this.

Música, películas y libros

Music: I’m constantly lagging when it comes to catching up with the new music. Blues, 60s and 70s rock, a bit of jazz sometimes, electronica, trip-hop, downtempo. It's become so eclectic now that I barely know what genres it fits in. And 90s music, cuz childhood.

Books: Currently reading Howard Jacobson (he's a genius if you didn't already know). Other than that its the usual list of greats like Kundera, Kafka, Murakami, Alice Munro, Arundhati Roy, Manu Joseph, Ramchandra Guha, Dalrymple. Reading mostly non-fiction nowadays. What else? I don't remember... memoirs, lots of memoirs. Maus.

MOVIES: The Big Lebowski, Midnight in Paris, Pan's Labyrinth, A Clockwork Orange, Manhattan, Amadeus, Snatch...

TV shows: The Wire, Curb your enthusiasm, Fargo, True Detective, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Mad Men

Podcasts: This American Life, The moth, The bugle, Radiolab

Well, the things that I've done and find amazing are- sailing from Mumbai to Goa in a small boat, really small.
Backpacking in eastern and central Europe.
Trekking and motorbiking in the Himalayas.
Living on a submarine.
