About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to see wherever the wind takes me and giggle all the way there

ABOUT ME

I've done away with work and I'm living the happy life of a carefree wanderer right now. Not sure how long it'll last but I like the lack of day to day stress that had engulfed me for the 10 years and am embracing the quiet life. I love meeting different and interesting people from all walks of life and would like to keep travelling around Europe meeting a few more. Everywhere I go I send a postcard to my 2 nephews in Melbourne because I never want to lose touch with them...no matter how far away my family and friends are still important to me. I'll try anything stupid twice and love a good laugh and a story. I'm very much going with flow right now and I'm happy smiling at the beauty in everything and seeing where the wind takes me.

PHILOSOPHY

Ah, Isn't Life Grand!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I go to the odd gathering to meet new cool kids and get a better feel for places I visit.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The first time I heard about CS I was a train to Prague where I fortunately sat next to the right bloke, Duke, who explained the whole thing to me. I ended up at a CS party with him, had numerous friendly and interesting people offer me a bed for the night and spent the weekend seeing Prague as I would never have imagined.

Interests

I like anything out of the ordinary and say to yes to everything...you never know if you don't try it...I also have nothing against the ordinary. I love real ales, beer appreciation and good food. Fresh local dishes or a spin on a classic are my favourites. My dreamy UK day involves a canal walk, old pub, warm fire, gourmet share platters and trying every ale on the menu. I'm also a fan of the English countryside and appreciating the varying styles of architecture here. I love live gigs but don't get to enough since moving to Northampton. I love sports of any kind and like to play the going sport in countries I live in. Aussie rules and netball in Aus, Gaelic in Ireland and now Rugby Union in England. I mainly play to show off the massive bruises I encounter...I bruise like a peach! I also don't mind a bit of berlesque, roller derby and rock climbing but mainly just tag along when my more passionate mates are going.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a lot more into music than movies and books. The last 3 books i tried to read i spilled beverages on and never finished so I took it as a sign *I have started reading a book again...100 pages down! I'll listen to any kind of music,at the moment favourites on the ipod are Alt-J, Bombay bicycle club, Kate Miller Heike, Foster the People, Bliss n Esso, Regina Spector, Passion Pit, Vampire Weekend, Kasabian, Roxette, Ziggy Marleyand the Go Team. I'm still clinging to my youth and listening to Triple J (Aus youth radio) but I also love golden oldies or anything 80's. I love getting to live gigs and festivals to really appreciate talented and passionate musicians

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I never go the same way twice so I am constantly amazed by new things daily

Teach, Learn, Share

I've learnt that your mother IS always right but I always like to find out the hard way. Experience is the best way to learn...sometimes it hurts but you'll always learn from it.
