So I'm Kye!
I'm a queer spunky kid set on exploring the world, but for now, I'm exploring my [relatively] new home of the San Francisco Bay Area.

Side note: My name used to be 'Kas'. Hence all the messages below with that name. But Kye is my new name-it's comfy with room for growth. (:

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've mainly been a host to Couchsurfing peeps at my former house in Santa Cruz called Zami! In fact, that's how I found Zami! in the first place: a couchsurfer named Sav lived there, and I thought I'd just check it out and instead I never left.
Nowadays, I'm most interested in supporting travelers in navigating the bay and providing a space to make food in.
I also like showing fellow queer community around the bay to check out the local scene[s] and provide info if you need it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Having couch surfers share my home in Santa Cruz was such a mind-blowing experience. I realized how much I love showing people around and seeing my home through new eyes.
I haven't done much couch surfing myself, though I did get to enjoy the incredibly warm welcome of the Berlin Queer Couchsurfing group when I traveled there in Aug 2012.

Teach, Learn, Share

I learned how to cook in a 30+ person housing collective, so if you ever want help making massive amounts of vegan/veggie food, I'm always game!

I really like to support the folks in my life, no matter how short our time is together. I'm always eager to ensure an event goes smoothly or chickens are corralled into their coop. I'm a volunteer-aholic.

Having lived in suburbia and cities all my life, I'm in desperate need to hone my camping, hiking, [insert nature activity here] skills. Really, I'm hopeless, and there are cookies in it for anyone who has even a smattering of knowledge of such things and is willing to teach me.
