About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoying all the great sights and people I meet on my adventures; providing shelter for fellow travellers.

ABOUT ME

My home is right in the 1000 Islands on the St. Lawrence River. I love hosting almost as much as I do traveling. I love talking about other travels with people that have put miles under their feet too. My partner and I have 3 amazing children.

PHILOSOPHY

I feel more now than ever in my life that you have to make each moment count. I am working towards a long term personal goal of living every waking minute to the fullest (well at least 50 seconds of each minute...i don't want to burn out too fast here eh)lol

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I continue to prophesize to everyone about how unbelievable couchsurfing is. I plan on hosting many future couchsurfers at my place and hope to meet many other CSer's in my travels.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couch-surfed for months while I was over in Europe and met some amazing people though doing so. I've also hosted several people at my home as well.

Interests

I enjoy so many things from playing sports (football, squash, running, working out, basically anything that gives me a good sweat and gets my heart pumping).
I love music. I try to play as much as I can. I would be happy playing just about anything as long as I was making a group sound better. The main stay intruments you usually see me with are my guitar, piano, harmonica, mandolin, oh ya and I love to sing. Hey I never said I was great, just that I loved to do it.

Music, Movies, and Books

My musical tastes go any where from Rock, Blues, Jazz, Bluegrass, Reggae, World, Classical and just about any other little sub-genre that makes me move. I still find myself very lopsided towards my love of rock and alternative to this day, but I am always open to taking up anyone on there recommendations. The only thing that bugs me in music is having something overproduced and overwritten...pop music is killing the musical buzz that I've been riding for years. The video certainly did kill many of our radio stars...but a few have slipped through the cracks...usually in Indie form or through this wonderfull thing called the internet.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Most amazing places....the Blue Grotto (Isle of Capri, Italy),it is quite a light show), the Croatian Island of Hvar, Cinque Terra in the Italian Riviera, the Ayran Islands in Ireland, the Greek Islands...spectacular.
Most amazing... recording my Grandmother onto a CD on her baby grand piano before she passed away...this has allowed those in our family that used to love her playing still be able to listen and those that never got the chance to appreciate her brilliance.

Teach, Learn, Share

My old football coach told me one time that my best skill was the fact that I could handle constructive criticism and that I was willing to tweak different things to make myself even better. I've tried to take that approach into many other areas of my life since then...sometimes things work sometimes they don't, the only way to know is to give it a shot. So I guess in a long-winded way I'm trying to say that I am a perpetual student of life...usually the ideas that are offered for free are the ones that have any value.
As for teaching anything, I have helped quite a few people with their music skills. Like I said before, I don't claim to be an expert musician by any means but I do have a ton of patience and I love expanding the list of people to jam with.
The other thing I'm sure a lot of people who know me would say I like to help out with if someone is looking for it is with nutrition and fitness. I have made and effort in improving both of these in the last few years..I've found that they are both never-ending subjects that need to be researched. I try to keep up as much as possible.
