About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see as many places and experience as much as possible before I die.

ABOUT ME

I was born in Norway but live in Denver. I am in the midst of mapping out the path for the rest of my life, though I seem to have been doing this for a while and I belive I will probalby be doing so for the rest of my life - this probably does not make much sense, but that's fine - I am not that big on longwinded diatribes about myself.Create your own visitor map!

PHILOSOPHY

Your whole life is based on memories, thus partaking in events, meeting people and experiencing great places sets a solid foundation to what your life is. Without these memories I would not have been who I am today , belived what i belive in, or perceived the world the way I perceive it. Therefore it is imperative to me to meet as many people and see as many places as possible. After having seen tragedy unfold, I have regained a real appreciation for life and all the beauties it carries.

Great quote: No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it - Einstein

Music, Movies, and Books

The Mission, Pulp Fiction, City of God, Munich, There's something about Mary, Babel. No country for old men: absolutely dark, thriwing and amazing.
Update: Just love the new HBO series Eastbound and down, so politically incorrect, rude and obnoxious....love it!

Eddie Izzard - Dressed to Kill - if you haven't heard of this guy, check him out....he's the funniest
transvestite comedian I know (because there's so many of them).

Nina Simone, Thievery Corporation, Massive Attack, Led Zeppelin - Loungy House Music

Books...hmm let me see, well I will mention a book that made a big impression on me, the first book I read: The Courier of the Tsar by Jules Verne. If I read it now, I'll probably be disappointed, however for a 7-year old it's quite an amazing story.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Getting a tour in the townships outside Cape Town, bungee jumping 280 meters, and being chased by Baboons, all on the same day. Watched a Eurocup match in Belgium - At sunset, rode a horse by the pyramids in Egypt. Everything was great except that my damn horse wouldn't turn to the right. To much amuzement of the local guide I had to turn a 270 degree left turn every time I wanted to go to the right. - Partied with the minister of diamons of Namibia - Sailed from the island of Rhotan: got inadvertenly introduced to swashbuckling cab drivers and local drug lords. Spent a night in small city port after we got rammed by local fishing boat - at least we got lobster.

Teach, Learn, Share

I was very disappointed when I found out that the word FUCK does not come from Fornication Under Carnal Knowledge, as I originally thought, which was a permit citizens of England in the 16th century needed to have sex. Rather, it supposedly derives from the word Foka - which is the old Norse word for "hump".

What else... In belgium a tradition dictates to swallow a live gold fish with a swig of wine.....apparently though, animal rights groups have been protesting this cruel consumption of a live gold fish thus the tradition might be facing extinction. I have sympathies for most animals, but my sympathies for gold fish are fair at best. I say bottoms up! Another tradition I found interesting is in a Spanish town, which name escapes me, every year, the people of the town carry a goat to the top of a tower and throw it out - yes, they throw it out from top of the tower and apparently they can predict the coming year on how the intestants are splatterred on the ground.
