Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment we can't host anyone (new community plus rennovation plus new baby), but I like to meet up for coffee and the like.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosting: We host often, though not exclusively through this website.
Surfing: I haven't surfed this side of the couch often, but when I have it has been absolutely awesome. Three cheers for all our former hosts.

Interests

I LIKE writing, post apocalyptic lit, gravely voices, anthropology, cooking, letters, dark beer, trains, packages in the mail, science fiction, abandoned buildings, books, secret identities, surprise dance parties, the sound of rain on the roof, late-night adventures, bikes, vegan potlucks, typewriters, graffiti (especially stencils), farmer's markets, used book stores, pirates, scavenging, and freshly baked bread.

I DON'T LIKE dubbed movies, temper tantrums, capitalism, fast food, wage slavery, or amusement parks.

Music, Movies, and Books

Top nine all-time favorite books...
The Dispossessed by Ursula Le Guin
Still Life With Woodpecker by Tom Robbins
Lolita by Vladamir Nabokov
Master and Margarita by M Bulgakov
The Blow Up and Other Stories by Julio Cortazar
How to Live Safely in a Science Fiction Universe by Charles Yu
Mythmakers and Lawbreakers by Margaret Killjoy
Into the Forest by Jean Hegland
Man in the High Castle by P.K. Dick

This year Perdido Street Station by China Mieville totally blew my mind. With The Name of the Win by Patrick Rothfuss and The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch right on its heels.
