About Me

***READ FIRST:
-Due to an unpredictable work schedule, I cannot guarantee my hosting availability more than a few days to a week in advance, at the most, so I am mostly accepting limited one-person, one-night/last-minute requests at the moment. My availability is limited for the time being, but feel free to reach out nonetheless!

-I will only respond to people who have fully-completed profiles and references, who have taken the time to read ALL SECTIONS of my ENTIRE profile BEFORE sending me a request, and who send me a personalized message; let me know why you're interested in staying with me in particular. This is for both our mutual respect AND our mutual safety. I've been on this site for fifteen years; I can tell by now if you're copy/pasting. ;)***

-You MUST be have both your COVID vaccine AND boosters, and present proof (ID + vax card) in order to stay here. NO EXCEPTIONS.

-Please note that, for my own safety and comfort, I do not host male guests traveling by themselves--just women and couples. Thank you for respecting my needs!

Requests that do not fully demonstrate understanding of and adherence to the above will immediately be declined with no additional contact. Please do not waste my time or yours.

ABOUT ME

I'm an actor, musician, dog-petter, and citizen of the world. I'm also a bike rider, cat owner, proud Jew, music/arts lover, language learner, and life liver. I've done and seen lots of interesting things!

I love singing, and I love music from all over the world. These days I'm listening to a lot of rock, new age and world music (mostly in Korean, Japanese, Turkish, Spanish and German). I have studied Korean, Japanese, Spanish, German and Hebrew to various extents. I can read and write all of them but understanding them all...that's a different story. :) My Korean's definitely the best, which makes sense considering I lived in Seoul for a year and a half.

I host free monthly outdoor vegetarian community Shabbat dinners in Los Angeles, send me a message if you're interested in joining us!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I live in North Hollywood, in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles, commonly referred to as just "the Valley". I'm a short bus ride or easy-enough walk (a little over a mile) to the North Hollywood Metro Station, off the Red and Orange metro lines. I'm happy to host anyone, but I keep a strictly vegetarian home and ask that my guests respect this. (If you are not sure what that entails, please ask!)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had nothing but AWESOME experiences on CS, both in hosting and in surfing! I have Couchsurfed myself in Barcelona, Philadelphia, Paris, Rapid City, Antwerp, Amsterdam, Park City, San Diego, Boston, and hosted Couchsurfers from Singapore, Germany, Latvia, Spain, Wales, The Netherlands, Korea, Hawaii, Australia, Croatia, Brazil, and more!!

Most interesting CS experience so far? I hosted a CSer through a hurricane and subsequent power outage and mandatory evacuation from my apartment...on said CSer's birthday. Whew!

EDIT: As of March 2020, this ^^^^ is no longer my most interesting CS experience so far. That honor now (and probably forever) goes to the CSer I hosted with her friend in 2012, who became one of my best friends and kept visiting me until 2020 when I introduced her to her now-husband and successfully completed my long-term objective in getting her to move halfway across the world to live here in LA with me, mwahahahaha.

Interests

I have a lot of them. Some of them are displayed here. Others you will find out. Others you won't. Yay!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I made my Carnegie Hall debut in January 2016, singing one of my favorite works by my favorite living composer, and it all started with me just calling up and asking if I could. I've sung at Carnegie Hall a total of four times now.

I love to share what I know, and love to learn ANYTHING. Seriously! If there's something you're good at (or even not good at but just passionate about :P ) I love learning new things!
