About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finishing a Bachelor Degree

ABOUT ME

I'm 26 now and still kinda trying to find my own path of life. A while ago, I stopped studying physics after 3 semesters, now I'm finishing my degree in Southeast Asian Studies. Hence my interest for social sciences. I tend to have leftist views on political discourses.

I call myself a traveller, albeit not a hardchore one. It seems like I often either don't have money or time to travel. But when I do, though, I try to make my journey an adventure. For example, in 2010 I hitch hiked from Berlin to Portugal and back for about a month. Or in 2013, for another month, I travelled on my own moped through Vietnam. I used to hate those people who run around with a camera and a Lonely Planet in the tourist centres. Nowadays, I am more honest to myself. It seems I like to do both on a journey: some sightseeing, some exploring by myself.

I'm up for anything, expecially if it involves a great team of people and beers. I really enjoy quality time with my friends and talks over societal problems, next to the ususal stuff.

At first glance, I may be (too) direct to anyone I meet anew. But I really mean it either in a funny or warm-hearted way. I try to be as helpful as I can for others.

PHILOSOPHY

Anything goes!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I used to host a lot, after travelling and surfing couches a lot. In the recent years, I couldn't host anymore except for friends. Reason is, I want to make sure my guests can have a great time and that I can have a great experience together with them. But recently, I just couldn't make room free for that. Will see soon to alter that.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Music, Movies, and Books

Too much to list. Although I disagree with spending time on TV-Series, I currently got hooked by "How I met your mother". Used to watch Simpsons and South Park a lot. Exactly my kind of humor.
Music: Partying: House, Techno, Balkan Beats. Live: Jazz, anything involving a guitar or a great show. Or anything rocking the stage. Or anything. At home: Bloc Party, Coldplay, to name the most popular ones. But anything, again, in fact.
Books: I collect them, but rarely get to read them, too shameful, I know. I hope I'll have more time the older I get. Kurt Tucholksy is surely one of the best satyrical writers. Read him to know about what it means to be German.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Awesome hitch hiking experiences in Europe. Lucky again and again.
Moto-biked through Vietnam. A beautiful country, on and off the beaten track.
Is the Angkor Wat temlple something I should list here or just another tourist thing for the picture of it?

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to walk with open eyes and spot street art.
I can teach you the basics of Beatboxing. I still can't stop doing it.
I can tell you much about my city Berlin. I love doing that.
------------------------------------------
I wanna learn anything. I love learning. Please teach me about your special subject! The basics of philosophy? How to construct a bridge? The politics in your country? How to drive a tank? What's your way to be happy in life?
And of course,... my/your signature dish is always something sharable.
