About Me

CURRENT MISSION

ABOUT ME

My life is my story, doing my best to define my own mythology. That's where you come in, welcome to the pantheon dawg

My mind is always hungry for knowledge, and there are so many incredible studies to undertake I could easily imagine myself happily drowning in the pursuit of learning, but I am far too interested in other people to be a hermit. Or to have maintained a particularly good GPA, ha.

I have worked as an educator for Middle School level Kids, during class I was teaching I delved into the history of performance art rather passionately. After the "lesson", I looked around at the kids who were covering the walls with paint, dancing on desks, and generally wreaking havoc. For that moment I was happy, followed immediately by the realization I should probably not teach middle school.

After education I studied film, a medium that covered all the bases for me: from the intensely personal act of screenwriting to the collaborative nature of actually shooting.
After graduation I worked in advertising for the university briefly, then got a job putting on an art show which basically ended up being a repeat of my teaching experience.
My basement was a de facto conert venue for a couple years, and I met a few amazing and inspiring travelers and performers.
I myself have traveled all over America, and through much of Spain and Italy as Well.

I hope we can hang.

PHILOSOPHY

IT TAKES ALL KINDS

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When my house was a venue, I gave a couch and gathered donations to support artists from Australia to Canada and beyond.
Currently I am preparing for at least a season of travel and adventure, so I am ready to share what little wisdom and abundant positivity I have with new hosts and travel companions.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A lot of my couch surfing has been off the record, but it has all been incredible. The way kindred minds can be connected to share what they have really reminds me that some things really are getting better in this wild world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lately, I was one of thousands of people occupying a park in NYC to express our frustration with the onslaught of unchecked greed which has all but bankrupted our political and economic system. We were being forced out by a rather aggressive police force- But we gathered around the edges of the park undiscouraged, and the police, grim faced, began to march towards us with zip cuffs and pepper spray.A voice broke out of the crowd chanting "NYPD I SEE A SMILE" and I realized it was mine. And then more voices. And then one of those grim faces broke into a smile. And then more. There were no arrests.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a little bit about literature and the history of film.
I know a little bit about Dada and Performance Art.
I know a little bit about how to make strange sounds.
I know a little bit how to tour as a band, and set up your home as a venue.

I really want to learn more. And NEVER STOP EVER
