Sobre mí

CURRENT MISSION

To stay alive, or die trying.

ABOUT ME

I posses both two arms and a pair of legs. All of which I am doing my best to retain.

Some might say I'm an optimistic pessimist who's unconcerned about everything I care about. But I say, I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint, I do not feel ashamed. I'm your hell, I'm you dream, I'm nothing in between, you know you wouldn't want it any other way.

Alright, so maybe that's just the lyrics to Bitch, but you aren't too fussy... are you?

In the reality I am me. I grew up in the deep north of Minnisnowda (don't know it, don't matter). My parents bit me with the bug to see the world when they moved me to Italy for half a year when I was 13, after that it's been all about the next place.

A quick schooling breakdown start pretty conventially I guess. I had a foray into the L.A. lifestyle and mechanical engineering at UCLA; that taught me what I hated and saw me running cross the ocean (actually I took a plane) to the land downunder.

After a dropout session, some time in SE Asia and New Zealand (that is not in the spell check dictionary) I found myself back in Australia with zoology and ecology on my mind.

During uni I dove full force into CS with the Forest, a chaotic ruin of mayhem, CouchSurfing, scumbags and hippies. A bunch of crazy maniacs all looking for nothing and finding a home in a house so dilapidated we probably shouldn't have been inhabiting it. As hundreds of surfers past through our doors and friends started to dot the globe the need to escape grew stronger.

Graduation day! Then it was back on the road (and has been since). I'm a traveler, a hitchhiker, a go with the flow and see where it takes you kind of person. It's the hard spots that define you and no one ever lived a great story sitting on their couch.

This year has brought me to Burning Man (though the term 'Burner' still sounds funny to me), traveling the U.S. and on my way down to those Spanish speaking countries south of me. Vamos a la playa!

In a summery I guess I love to travel (as does everyone on CS) and meet people, hear their stories and create my own. I'd rather live a short life of challenges and adventure than a long life of missed opportunities and regret.

I also love using parenthesis in my writing and am a huge fan of ellipses (...)

PHILOSOPHY

That every philosophy only hinders you in your ability to expand (except mine).

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

By putting this handy-dandy little profile up here and opening my heart and fridge to you.

I believe 100% in CouchSurfing and helped it along by being part of the amazing Forest where we hosted hundreds of surfers over our four year reign. I love going to events, Couch Crashes, Parties, and all that goodess!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Once we took an old couch and tried to stand on it while we slid it down an icy hill.

It was rather unsuccessful.

Other than that I helped start and run The Forest. Since we started our CS community the house never went a day without a surfer, holds a record of something like 32 surfers at once, had an average of around 10 surfers at all times. Most importantly though I have no proof I'd like to say we single-handedly got more surfers drunk on goon-punch and dancing on the roof then the rest of Australia combined.

It was rather successful.

Beyond the intensity of the forest I've hit the couches around the world and met the fantastic folks who housed them. From the Oceanic, back to the Americas surfing is the way to go.

Intereses

I love just about every thing. I'm a big fan of the outdoors whether it be hiking, camping, or laying on the beach. I love to play sports, read a good book, or get smashed and try and remember how to play Yahtzee. Music is also a passion of mine so when I'm not hacking away at my guitar in an attempt to play or whistling too loud I listen to the music of those more talented than me.

I love circus stuff and am often carrying either some juggling balls or a diablo. Spining a fire staff in the evening or trying to learn some new acrobalance stuff in the park are some of the best ways to spend your time I think.

But mostly my interest is people, from the stranger on the bus to the friend I've known my whole life. I love to get to know people, hear their stories and what they've done.

I also like to drink and have a good time!

Algo increíble que he hecho

Lived.

It's the most amazing, challenging, funnest, saddest, craziest, greatest thing I'll ever do.

After that it be that crazy trip through time with my best friend as we collected historical figures for a history project with a little giudance from George Carlin. Oh, no... wait.. that was just a most EXCELLENT adventure, not amazing.

Hitchhiking around has been great as well. The people you meet and the perspective it gives you can change your view of the world and places you've visited and lived.

Living in a tent next to the ocean in Nelson and down by the river in Takaka. Waking in the morning and jumping in cold water is not only a cure to all your ills but a rebirth to your soul.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I know a decent amount about fire toys, juggling, music, electronics, and just stuff. I'll talk about the world, politics, my life, your life, whatever.

I'm a zoologist and ecologist by degree so I guess I know a fair bit about animals and the ecosystem, so I got that under my belt.

I be down to try and teach someone anything even if I don't know it. All I got to do is stay one lesson ahead.
