Sobre mí

LIFE MISSION:
"Do/make everything" was my life mission for a long time. I think it still is.

ABOUT ME
My natural attitude is positive to the bone, and I'm open to anyone and everything: I want to learn and get new perspectives on things. I do my best to not get caught in single-minded perspectives. Over the years my lifestyle has slowed down a bit, and while I don't enjoy big-picture routine, I like routine in the small things in life. Like breakfast -- smoothie and a cup of coffee, thank you!

I love people, I love YOU, and I love to be around you. Sometimes though, like most other people, I need to get away - a weekend alone somewhere, armed with pen and paper. Perhaps some travelling. Nature. Bike-touring.

I must admit, I really enjoy drastic changes in my life.

PHILOSOPHY

Factotum is latin for "Do/make everything", and that is a general principle that rings true to me, and that I therefore live by.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
CouchSurfing is a very natural way to meet people for me, and I recommend it to all the great people whose paths I cross.
When travelling, I couchsurf whenever possible, though it can be hard sometimes, as I rarely know where I'll be at what time.

Now that I have an available couch, I'm more than happy to payback what I've received so much of when couchsurfing myself: a home, perspective and friendship.

Intereses

Apart from the usuals, like friends, various forms of entertainment, alcohol and such, I really enjoy learning. Whereever I go and what I might be doing, I seek the challenge in order to learn - both when it comes to more practical skills, but also about myself.
Blacksmithing and metal/woodwork in general, and bikes, are top on the list these days.

There are very few things I don't find interesting. Perhaps the only one would be saying no.

  • coffee
  • traveling
  • socializing
  • juggling
  • woodworking
  • cycling
  • entrepreneurship

Música, películas y libros

I enjoy very different kinds of music, and there are only very few types that I really dislike. However, it is very situational; for me, music can help me get in a certain mood. When alone, quiet electronica works. Always.

Same with movies. When hungover, I especially enjoy action movies with Arnold Schwarzenegger.

My favourite books are Doppler by Erlend Loe and Ishmael by Daniel Quinn. Doppler is a book about a guy, Doppler, who gets enough of modern life and moves out in a forest. He kills an elk to survive, and ends up being best friends with the elk's child. The elk kid is very cute, but Doppler always wins in memory-games when they play. Read it!

Algo increíble que he hecho

The one thing that comes to my mind is when I crossed the Atlantic with a cargo ship. Sitting on the deck in the middle of the Atlantic, looking at the sunset and thinking "holy shit I'm alone, and some day I'm going to die".

Enseña, aprende, comparte

Personally I feel I learn something from everything that happens to me or around me. Even if it's something that's not enjoyable or otherwise something I don't wish for, I still feel I learn something - not to say that everything happens for a reason, though. I suppose I tend to look on the bright side of things.

Specifics:
I studied social entrepreneurship and systemic leadership - that I would be able to teach some.
I've had success in teaching people to juggle, but BYOJB (bring your own juggling balls)
I'm a bike mechanic and I can teach you lots about that.
Or how about trying out a bit of blacksmithing?
