About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Making the world a little better, expending my horizons, learning.

ABOUT ME

I'm happy and optimist. I love people and I seem to be good at all sorts of communication levels, empathy, understanding and just making them feel better about themselves. It's one of the traits I most value about myself, and it's what I hope to do with the rest of my life...
...Those are pretty hectic right now, sometimes I feel I try to accomplish too much in very little time, which can be exhaustion on some days.
I'm a full time social work student (just finished my 2nd year, June 2012). I also intern in a youth center, which is amazing, and than I have my job - for the past 2 years I've been working with special needs adults in a house located in the community. The affects it has both on them and the community is rather fabulous, and many other organizations have started taking on this approach, so I feel a part of something very important.
I have about 3 months of vacation from school every year, and though I keep working on those, I usually manage to take at least a couple of weeks off to fly to the US to visit my nephew (which will hopefully come back to Israel ASA him mom finishes her PHD).
while in the US, I'm located in MD, and from there I try to make my way within the US for about a week or so.
most of my traveling have been about meeting people and getting to know new cultures, rather than the whole tourist-experience which i can't always seem to understand...

I know they've asked for "all about me" but I find this sufficient for now. I'll be happy to answer/discuss Anything else. just ask :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't been hanging here much lately, so I might not reply to your message as quickly as I would have wanted.
Feel free to look me up on FaceBook if it takes too long(same name: Danna Artzi, make sure you mention you're a CSer).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted a little in the past few years, and surfed some 2+ years ago - both have been awesome. most of my surfing happened in northers Mexico, Cali, Southern US and Guatemala, and after some good experiences through this website, I just went on to taking contacts from veteran surfers and built my own group of friends. But that's all a bunch of years ago, and I'm back here to start exploring again.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My trip to Nepal was probably the biggest life changer when it comes to traveling. Seeing the sunrise from a mountain summit in the Himalayan after an exhausting 2 weeks hike changed my perspective. helped me believe I can accomplish pretty much anything if I put my mind to it. that was around age 19, which is 7 years ago, but I don't think I'll ever forget it.

My current job is probably one of the most amazing things I've ever done (I work with special needs adults). they completely changed my view of the world, love, compassion, humanity, affection but mainly ,my view of myself.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Germany, Guatemala, India, Mexico, Nepal, Netherlands, Romania, Spain, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
