I'm at my happiest when I'm exploring a new place and making discoveries. I'm a very spontaneous person and laugh a lot, and yet I also spend a lot of time thinking and gazing off into the middle distance. I've got a broad range of interests but most revolve around what humanity has done, what it's doing at the moment, and what's going to happen next! I'm quite geeky and like reading, gaming and debating. Outdoors wise I enjoy hiking, and have been really impressed with Scotland's mountains so far.

I've lived and worked in China a couple of times, first in Beijing and then in Hong Kong. Both were amazing experiences that taught me a lot about the world and myself. I've now settled down back in the UK, living near Glasgow with my wife, Yvonne.

I guess 'exploring' would cover a lot of what interests me. Obviously, that includes travelling, but it also means discovering things generally, like new ideas or activities.
