About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be inspired by people of different cultures!!

ABOUT ME

Always smiling, laughing and in a good mood !! I'm a very curious person by nature and I LOVE to learn new things. History, geography, people and new cultural experiences are my greatest passions! Other than that, I like when things are simple and I hate the word "no"... That's why I never say no to a drink on a terrace, to ice cream after playing football (soccer) on a hot day or to a crazy night out with my friends !!

PHILOSOPHY

"Always look for the best in the worst."
-Quote from Coumba

"Life is like a box of chocolate. You never know what you're gonna get!"
-Quote from the Forrest Gump movie

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm currently trying to bring together as many couchsurfers from Outaouais as I can to make my region be even more dynamic with the Couchsurfing way of travelling! So weather you're from Gatineau, Maniwaki, Wakefield, Papineauville or Campbell's Bay, join the Outaouais group!!!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In January 2007, I brought an Australian (a friend of one of mine who was in the region for a couple of days) at my parents place in Québec city for a weekend. I loved the experience! It made me want to do it again!

For the CS project, my guests in Gatineau :
Adrien from France (May 2007), Matthias and Alex from Germany (June 2007), Dean the Aussie from BC (June-July 2007), Steven from Belgium (July 2007), Samy and Kamal from France (September 2007), Gijs from Belgium (September 2007), Christophe and Melinda from Hungary (September 2007) and Marlene from USA (August 2009).

Upcoming guest(s) :
No one for the moment!

For the CS project, my hosts in Europe :
Emese from Porto (my first and best host!), Filipa from Coimbra, Adrien from Toulouse, Ari from Paris, Romain from Lyon, Kamal from Montpellier, Samy from Pau, Emmanuel from Marseille, and Christophe from Nice. THANKS TO ALL OF YOU GUYS FOR A GREAT TIME IN YOUR COMPANY DURING SUMMER 2007! I TRULY HAD A BLAST BECAUSE YOU ALL ARE AMAZING PEOPLE!

To all the great Couchsurfing people I met along the way, by coincidence or through CS meetings, cheers! You all are welcome at my place in Québec!

And finally... to amazing friendships that started through CS, and that kept going and growing for the past several weeks! I'm thinking of course of Samy & Kamal (who studied in Montréal) and Marlou (from Québec), plus all the awesome CSers I meet regularly during gatherings in Ottawa! ;)

Upcoming gatherings :
Weekly meetings on Wednesdays! Yes, you are welcome!

Interests

In no particular order: Travelling, learning, partying, talking, teaching, meeting new people, spending time with loved ones, listening to music, seeing a play or going to a museum, playing soccer and badminton, playing games - any games, cooking, eating good food (my mission was to learn to like olives... achived!), drinking wine and sangria, discovering things that I don't know, hiking in the forest, walking without knowing where I'm going, watching sunsets... and so on!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

During 2004 and 2005, I organized a trip to Senegal, Africa, while I was in University. The objectives were to meet students and teachers, to make conferences in high schools, to get in touch with the education system, etc. This was my own project and it finally took place in April-May 2005! That's also where I got the nickname "Coumba"...

Summer 2007: went backpacking by myself in Europe...

Summer 2009: skydived (that was truly amazing)!!!

Winter 2020 : snorkeled in Silfra fault, Iceland.
