About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoy the amazing city of San Francisco while saving up for my next adventure abroad!

ABOUT ME

Graduated from Berkeley, completed a round-the-world backpacking trip, and now living in and sharing one of the greatest cities in the world with amazing friends. Good company and a few drinks are a decent recipe for dulling the pangs of wanderlust, but it always creeps back in eventually...

PHILOSOPHY

I've been dealt a good hand in life. I'm doing my best to play it out with kindness, understanding, and open-minded acceptance of everybody else playing the game.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In short, my experiences abroad, including those with my incredible Couchsurfing hosts, have given me great faith in humanity and made me a much less cynical person. There is so much kindness out there.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Before Sunrise/Sunset, Wild Strawberries, Cinema Paradiso, The Seventh Seal, Closer, Waking Life, Fight Club, Amores Perros, American Beauty, Princess Mononoke, Blade Runner, Oldboy, Twelve Monkeys, Trainspotting, The Lion King

Books: Anything by Haruki Murakami, Chuck Palahniuck, Cormac McCarthy, Eugenio Montale, Dostoevsky, Vonnegut, Bradbury. Also, rereads of The Myth of Sisyphus and Faust have been especially rewarding over the years.

Music: A list would be too long. Suffice to say I'm a Massive Daft Punk fan, have listened to the Strokes album "Is This It" more than any other, and am currently bingeing on Tame Impala. Oh yeah, and, The Beatles. Like, duh.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking without seeing another soul for six hours to stand alone, overlooking the Dead Sea Rift from the roof of Aaron's tomb atop Jebel Haroun in Jordan.

Waking up sunburned to all hell after passing out on a beach during Carnaval in a small town outside Rio.

So many great memories from living in Bolivia. Watching the sunset and sunrise over the Salar de Uyuni, sharing chicha at a party with the miners in Potosí, meditating at the top of Huayna Picchu...
