Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Host, surf, meet, talk, cook...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been to several CS meetings and have met wonderful people. I've had great times exploring new cities abroad. I love how couchsurfers connect so easily. It's just a great experience. The hosts I've had so far have been genuine, trusting people. My wife and I started hosting after moving to Düsseldorf. We've had great guests so far.

Surfed in: Austria, Denmark, Germany, New Zealand, Seychelles, Spain, Switzerland,

Hosted from: Australia, Canada, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Japan, New Zealand, Russia, Scotland, Serbia, Sweden, Ukraine, USA

Interests

I love all sorts of outdoorsy and adventurous stuff like climbing/bouldering, hiking, scuba diving, skydiving and motorcycling.

12 years ago I chose to be a vegetarian and about 5 years ago my wife and I made the final cut to veganism without really having to cut anything down. I still get to enjoy chocolate, cheese, joghurt, ice cream and all the things I thought I couldn't live without. Only difference: now it's cruelty free! Based on rice, almond, oat or soy.
We also try to reduce our waste as much as possible, especially plastic. We enjoy a trip to the local market or orcanic store where we can pack fruit and vegetables in our eco baggies instead of buying everything wrapped in plastic and we take our breadbag to the bakery.
