CURRENT MISSION

to keep traveling- I started when I joined the Peace Corps at 56 years oldand was assigned to Lesotho in Southern Africa and havent stopped since.I kind of consider myself an old Peace Corps Hippy.

ABOUT ME

I am a widow, ex banker, Returned Peace Corps Volunteer(91=93)Mother of 4, grandmother of 6 amd great grandmother of 3. I am a budget traveler and, usually travel independently. Have recently started cruising (when one of my sons went to work with Princess cruises.) I prefer to travel in Asia, Africa and South and Central America . I travel about 5 months a year. I have traveled in 91 countrys since 1991 and my goal is to get to 100 at least.Update---I have 97 countrys now and hope to hit 100 with a trip to Norway,Sweden,and Denmark later this year2010)I finally reached my goal 2012 Sept. Now have 102 countrys with a trip to central Europe and Norway in Sept.

PHILOSOPHY

Dont wait to travel , Start young and keep going.Stay in guest houses , hostels or with other couch surfers. You meet locals, travelers from all over the world, spend less money and have a wonderful time.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I had my first guests in Oct 08 and it was a perfect first exsperiance with couchsurfing. I also did my first stay as a member in Nov 08 when I stayed with a wonderful Peace Corps volunteer in Lesotho, Africa , in the same town where I was a PCV in 1991-93. My weaknes is that I am not very computer/ technical literate so havent sent in a picture, or listed my contacts and friends but will get one of my grandchildren to teach me how soon.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have had several guests , all of them wonderful,and am looking forward to others.There have been no problems at all.I have only stayed as a guest once but plan on other stays soon.

Interesses

Travel. people, reading, volunteering ,some crafty things, my great grand children. I just started volunteering at the USO facility at the Phoenix airport and find it a very satisfying thing to do.
