CURRENT MISSION

Don't blink.

ABOUT ME

I love ice cream and looking up to the sky when it's snowing. I like sending postcards, I think it's a nice and easy way of showing peole you care/think about them. I love New York, anytime I'm there I just know I belong there. I really like fashion but I hate when people think I'm shallow or judgemental just because of that. La casa de los espiritús by Isable Allende is one of the greatest books I've ever read. Most of the time I don't really like when people correct my grammar, I think it's kinda rude when you're in a conversation. I love beaches, and building sandcastles, and the sea, and walking barefoot in the sand, my feet getting wet every 30sec whenever there's a wave. Actually, I'm pretty obsessed with the see and I wish I could go scuba diving every day. I want to name my daughter Penelope (after the song by Joan Serrat). I've been dreaming about going to Argentina and India since forever, for no reason. I like loft beds, one day I'll have one. I love salad made of green mangos, salt and lemon juice. So far I only had it once in Cahuita, Costa Rica, but I still remember it. When I was little, I spent all my summers at my Grandfather's farm in Ukraine. He had pigs, and chicken and rabbits and ducks and a dog... Sometimes I say weird things in my sleep, like "It's the beat. That's what you get for hanging out with mormons." I get cold really fast and I hate being cold; so guys, when I say that I'm cold, I'm not flirting with you. At some point, I wanna hang out with Manu Chao for a day. I'd give a lot to be able to travel back in time for a year at a time or so. I'd go to the 60s and be a hippie and to the 80s and hang out Studio 54 all the time. I have no idea how to drive a car and sometimes I think cars are strange because you see the people in there and you see them moving but you don't see how they're moving. I think it's quite entertaining to be drunk during the day sometimes, like this time after an interview in London, I hadn't eaten and got lost in Notting Hill after a glass of white wine. I found the map store though. I really enjoy art and photography. Sometimes I want to start dancing on the subway or in the streets when I'm listening to a good song on my ipod. I know, I should just do it. I'm a little superstituous with some things, like weird coincidences and stuff like that... I'm obsessed with the idea of having a monkey. I'd call him Bob I'm also obsessed with the idea of going to space. In fact, that's what I force myself to think about when I got the blues. One day, I would like to have a party where ALL my friends can come together, they're so spread out around the globe and I think about them a lot. I think the letter Q is pretty. I did ballett dancing for almost nine years and at some point wanted to become a professional dancer. Spiders freak me out (I know, I'm such a girl). I'm boycotting Starbucks; I think it's overrated, overpriced and evil.

Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle. (Plato)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

here and there.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started CouchSurfing in 2007 when I was doing a project about the Catalonian national sentiment. My experience was really positive; my hosts were all very adorable people and I had the greatest time at the gatherings in Barcelona. After that, I tried to get involved with couchsurfing all the time when I was travelling; I went to gatherings, parties, couchsurfed in Berlin and went to many events in New York.

Interessi

life, your story. stories in general. Union Square. the sea. ice cream, street art, fashion, current affairs, photography, weird little coincidences, vintage, good memories, laughing, riding my bike home at 3am, flipping coins to make decisions, taking walks, watching the sunrise from a rooftop... little things you see walking around places that most people don't notice. people.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

In December 2008 I spent a day at Isla Taboga in Panama. I was all by myself, just watching the tide grow and go away... Reading, building a sandcastle... It was lovely.
Driving through Guatemala listening to Manu Chao (or Ukraine listening to Gogol Bordello).
Sitting on the top of a temple in Tikal early in the morning, overlooking everything and listening to the jungle.
Eating raspberries in my grandfather's garden, looking at the stars at night.
Flying back to New York from San Francisco on an almost coudless day, watching the landscape change.
Hitchhiking over the Golden Gate Bridge.
New York.
Seeing Sonic Youth live.
Scuba diving in a coral reef in the Honduras Bay Islands.

I look for little things that amaze/scare/shock/make me smile everywhere I go, I love looking out for those small details that tell you something or move you.
