About Me

I am an independent production and development specialist designing strategies for queer arts organizations, programs, and projects.

Joseph Varisco performs independent production and development support to underrepresented, HIV+, and queer populations as creator of the annual performance series QUEER, ILL + OKAY, Program Manager at Alphawood Gallery (Art AIDS America) and co-curator at Salonathon. Varisco sits on the Victory Gardens Community Leadership Council, is recipient of the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, Chicago Community Trust, and Visual AIDS grants. Varisco believes in a model of collaborative creative practice as community building.

I have a pup named Pancakes and a Samson.

I busy myself in my spare time with reading and dreams of grandeur.

Life has become equal parts resist, resist, resist and let go.

Constellating with some rad folk, brainstorming creative conversations, designing sustainable problem solving practices for our artist lives.

FOOD! The power of food bring people to a table, laugh, explore, wax philosophical, get our pop culture references on and experience something new together.
