i would liketo meet people form different cultures and understand and celebrate the differences. i would like to meet people who like to learn new things, share experiences and make international friendships and help to overcome barriers to communication

ABOUT ME

I'm quite a serious thoughful person. I love learning new things and experiencing new places. i find it very dificult to deal with the mundane. I am an absolute avid reader and love to try and speak new languages. I am interested in long in-depth conversations and love to know what makes people tick. I enjoy the company of new and different people and find it easy to inteact with people from all walks of life. In the past few years I have been sailing, seen the eclipse of the sun from 7000 feet in the Picos de europa,ridden an elephant in the rajasthan festival and danced with samburu tribe in africa. I enjoy camping and roughing it outdoors but am equally happy spending time roaming museums and art galleries. in fact there is not much i'm not interested in with the exception of maths mechanical devices and space

PHILOSOPHY

I think its important to have a purpose in life and mine is to make a difference however small to the lives of those I come in contact with
i believe that each person is unique and that is what makes life interesting
i think we have a responsibility to look after our planet and to enjoy the beauty we find there

i have hosted some visitors and really enjoyed the experience and am looking forward to having more interesting visitors in the future

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i have had lots of requests to host but so far only two have visited as i am often away running residential courses. its been a very interesting experience and i can't wait to meet more people

books are my passion and i,m usually reading at least 4 at any time.Favorite books could be One hundred years of solitude and the Alchemist though i've read so many its hard to choose. i love world and classical music and anything live - i don't play an insturment but really enjoy listening to others. Movies - anything which might have soem bases in reality - recently saw freedom writers -what an inspiration

I have carried soemones ashes to the top of a mountain and made a cairn in their memory and seen a brockenspectre - a rare weather phenomenon

I know a lot about working with difficult young people and how to motivate them. Id be happy to teach english and discuss literature. I can also teach craft.
