Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love the idea of sharing your own home or small segments of your life with a complete stranger even if only for a night, but since I do not own the home I live in I cannot promise I will have a couch for you. However, I am always available to meet up for a drink or to show people around town (I work as a freelance so I have free time).
I also do organize many CS events in Lisbon (mainly related to food, cinema, literature and art).
To me CS is mainly about meeting people from different cultures and countries: I honestly don't believe is all about 'free accomodation abroad'.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have met some pretty amazing people via couchsurfing and cannot wait to have my own place and be able to host, host, host!

Interests

I like reading, I am a movie-freak, I love animals. I quite enjoy walking in the countryside, I like art and theatre and food. I love shopping. I dont like dancing.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Woody Allen, Bergman, Lynch, Frank Capra and Tarantino. My true passion are horror movies (I am the ultimate zombie-freak). I also love movies from the 50s or 60s, Doris Day, Audrey Hepburn and that sort of stuff. My favourites are: Arsenic and old lace, Shadows and fog, wild strawberries, gone with the wind, lolita (Remake), barry Lyndon, indiana jones, natural born killers, night of the living dead(remake), 28days later, paul mcguigan's movies, the departed (also the jap version),tesis, velvet goldmine, pan's labyrinth, almost all almodovar, don camillo, dogville and nosferatu (murnau and herzog).
Music: I love rock'n roll, rockabilly, psychobilly, punk, jazz, blues, classical,electroclash, rock, new wave, metal (not pure metal, I am more of a cannibal corpse/napalm death kind of person rather than an Iron maiden type). I cannot stand hip hop and r&B, I hate it, never in my life. same for techno. My fav music is Bowie, Iggy Pop, Cramps, Defectors, anything connected to Phil Spector.
Books: love Dostoevsky, Nabokov, Baudelaire, Rimbaud, Pessoa, Eca de Queiroz, Neruda, Hikmet, Tanizaki,Joe Landsdale, Joyce carol oates, d'annunzio (tired of putting capital letters..),de sade, wilde, Lindqvist (great great),goethe,maeve brennan, chomsky (my idol).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

snow in venice, beaches & sunset in algarve , canterbury chatedral, the coast in cornwall, sacker torte in Wien:), eating boquerones and montaditos in madrid (love madrid), bowie's concert in Lucca, joe strummer's concert at Imola (one of the last..sigh), seeing wild strawberries at the cinema in London,camping in alto adige (val di rabbi), creating my own 'shot' in a bar in Lagos, going around Verona in a vespa, the fact that I am at 2 degrees of separation from the real 'Dude' (Big Lebowski).

Teach, Learn, Share

My only skill is cooking. I am very good at it. I also know latin (better then nothing). being a movie freak, I have got a wide selection of movies to chose from. Also, I am a member of the Zombie Research Sociey: beat that;)
