About Me
CURRENT MISSION
the search for a world with no steps goes on......
ABOUT ME
My house is already booked from 22 February to 8 March 2010.
I had a secret ambition to run a youth hostel or a backpackers, and to travel vicariously through the tales of the people who come to stay. I've lived in London, Kathmandu, Lecce, and Rome, and in various places around Australia including Alice Springs. My OS travel has been on hold for about a decade after I was thrown off a horse and landed in a wheelchair.
PHILOSOPHY
Fair go for all - rethinking world economics so that profit margin increases are not the driving force, living life to the full whilst minimising my own ecological footprint, putting positive throughts and actions into the universe.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Me and my dog have spare rooms, tranquil garden, and plenty of coffee and vego food, about 15 Km from the CBD. Public transport is rotten, but i may be able to pick you up from a nearby bus interchange sometimes. The buses have bike racks and the city has a fantastic network of cycle paths.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Nil formally through CS2 as yet - finding accessible couches is a bit of a challenge. But when we lived for three years in Rome, the longest consecutive time without house guests was 3 weeks. Loved it!

Music, Movies, and Books
movies - English comedies, old Ealing Studio B&W's, jazz and blues, books - anything, in all categories, I like anything except SciFi. Will go to any movie or entertainment anywhere so long as it is with great people.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
hitch-hiked solo through Thailand in '75 at risk to life and limb, trekked lots in Nepal, especially the Kali Ghandaki valley which must have been the hobbits' original home, camped on the edge of the avalanche zone of Mt Annapurna, seen frozen waterfalls, cycled round the Nederlands, gone ruby hunting at Ruby Gorge, met gzillions of great people both home and abroad
Teach, Learn, Share
was a teacher of Italian Language (conversational skills especially - 15 years of non use has made me pretty rusty now), ethics (vestigial knowledge, but want to learn more), child psychology and management - botheration, not much else really
