ABOUT ME

I WAS hanging out in Europe...being a nanny and singing when I got the chance...but now I'm back in my "hometown" of Anchorage, Alaska. I hate working and I love laying on the beach. My dream is to have a permanent house on the beach that I can come hang out at when I'm not singing in the fabulous opera houses of the world! Still keeping that dream alive!

PHILOSOPHY

Give everything an 'A' to begin with. Basically, thinking the best about everything before you get there. I believe that people are basically good, life just gets in the way...so I hope I can be a positive mirror that reflects the happiness and goodness they might have lost along the way.

Inviting people to events that I know are going on. Traveling and hoping to meet awesome people all over the world. I think it's so cool to be able to have friends whereever you go -- that's the best part about couchsurfing! I love having that companionship!

This couchsurfing stuff is the bomb! I had so much fun getting to know my hosts and making connections. I'm still trying to get the hang of giving my hosts enough time to plan for me and I'm afraid I've been a bad surfer...so I apologize to those who have offered to host me and I've had to cancel...please be patient with me! I'm still learning the rules!

Intereses

I loooooove salsa dancing, I'm a night owl, and I love to laugh...and I have a great smile that cheers people up...which is good because I love to do that too. Fine wine, good food and great convos are favorites as well....and COFFEE!!!!!!!!!!!!! woot woot! Starting to love karaoke more, like getting outside and enjoying nature, hiking, fishing, art galleries and museums. I kinda like just about everything -- or at least I'll try everything once before I make a decision. Painting -- with acrylics right now.

I love dogs and hiking and doing things outdoors. Camping, making and playing with fires....snowboarding, 4-wheeling, snow machineing, having fun! Volleyball, Ice Skating, rollerblading, traveling (of course)! And reading good books and hanging out at used book stores. I'm really getting into travel writing, blogging and painting with acrylics.

I read lots of fun fiction, crime fiction, Janet Evanovich, Linda Fairstein, adventure, Bill Bryson! I also like reading Classics: Charles Dickens, Oscar Wilde, Jane Austen....Travel writers: Bill Bryson is a fave

Fave TV shows: Magnum PI, NCIS, MacGyver, J.A.G., Star Trek Voyager...omg, I can't believe I just admitted that on the internet! hahaha

Fave movies: Pride and Prejudice, James Bond Casino Royale, Count of Monte Cristo, Indiana Jones Last Crusade, The Bourne Identity, Bourne Supremecy...the Bourne Ultimatum!!! wahoo!

Music: Jazz, Bluegrass, old French lounge singers,80's music, flamenco, tango, salsa, anything spanish, and...opera! Fave opera is La Traviata, followed by the music in Romeo and Juliette (Gounod), and then from there on it's a toss up for favorites! There are too many! oh man...how could I forget bootie music!!?!!?! Fergie, Ludakris, NeYo, Gwen, JayZ, Beyonce, sometimes Timberlake, Babyface, Marvin Gaye...:)

Listening to "Amazing Grace" bagpipe version playing while they raised the sails on our Windjammer cruise in the Caribbean with the most perfect sunset...totally brought me to tears.

Flew over and around and through all the crevasses of Mt McKinley.

Being 5 feet from a huge grizzly bear.

Eating an incredible Italian dinner at a castle outside Rome.

I want to learn how to sail a boat! and I want to learn more about photography...if I had a real camera I think I'd actually be good at it! :) I'm teaching myself through books how to paint.

I can teach you how to sing or play the piano or how to be a child again and be silly!
