I will arm wrestle anyone who is willing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I used to host in my old house in Philly. I am unable to host at the moment. I hope to have a place again soon where I can host couch surfers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted quite a few lovely people in Philadelphia. I have surfed on occasion. I met some very nice people in Argentina through couchsurfing. Did a meet up with a local surfer in Durham, NC and went to a rock quarry to swim.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Two amazing things that have happened to me:

I sent out a message in a bottle from Prince Edward Island in Canada when I was 16 and a few years later I received a postcard from a small island in Scotland called the Isle of Coll. Two years ago, I went to visit that island and visited the beach where that postcard was found.

When I was traveling on motorcycle in Chile, I had a small accident. On a hairpin turn with a steep grade, I swerved to miss some rocks that were in the road and hit a patch of gravel, which sent me and my bike tumbling. I was pinned to the ground by the motorcycle, but fortunately two men in a van came down the road and took the bike off of me. I was not hurt badly, but my leg swelled up so that I couldn't walk or ride my motorcycle. A family that I had seen earlier at a vista stopped to make sure I was okay. The daughter brought a pillow for my leg, the son helped translate between me and the medics, and the father put on my jacket and gloves and rode my motorcycle to the nearest town for me. The rest of the family drove me to the nearest town and the daughter called local hostals to find me a room with a good price. They brought me to the hostal and brought me ice, medicine, and snacks. I was not able to get in contact with them after that, but I am very grateful to them. I could not walk for 3 days, but on the fourth day, I crossed the Andes on my motorcycle.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a carpenter and I LOVE learning about different building styles from around the world. I love to teach people how to use tools and how to do woodworking. I would also love to teach you to play dominoes.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to cook. I also am handy around the house, so if you've got any little problems that need to be fixed, I'd be happy to help. I am learning Spanish, so if you need a good laugh...
