I am a passionate social entrepreneur and founder of the Berlin Impact Startup SIRPLUS. We are saving surplus food from producers and wholesalers and offer it as cooking boxes or single orders conviently germanwide through our online shop. My vision is that all humans have enough food and to make foodsaving mainstream. Since 2009 I am tackling food waste and lived 5 years in a “money strike” to create awareness for food waste and how everyone can live more sustainable and easily reduce one’s carbon footprint. In 2012 I co-founded foodsharing, a voluntary movement of more than 120.000 foodsavers who saved already 70 Mio. kilograms of surplus food in Austria, Switzerland and Germany. Together with my wonderful wife Nieves and our two amazing kids we live in Berlin.

I was convinced by Couchsurfing even before knowing what it was, I started with Hospitality Club and since then I am an active Couchsurfer. Apart from hosting and being guest, I share the idea, this lifestyle with all people I meet and I try to make this world a 100% Couchsurfing spirit one!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It is the perfect base for this sky rocking idea of sharing, caring, learning and loving from and to each other! I am fascinated by the CS project and I only had very good experiences with Couchsurfing and all the marvelous people I met thanks to CS!

I believe that CS is far more than just a Website, it is a lifestyle, a vision for a better world!
