PHILOSOPHY

find your own way type thing. everyone's god is their own personal god inside them. also have realised that my karma, or personal angel, or luck, or whathaveyou, revolves around getting me through travelling and helping me meet great people at the right time find the right book at the right time, and not in winning money or goods, and I love this.

the new pornographers 'sing me spanish techno' makes me very happy, as does radioheads 'the bends' or massice attacks 'blue lines' on a saturday morning.
listening to maria callas is like listening to what god made human emotion for.
irish, russian, english and french writers, awesome. indian heritage writers, fanatastic. still have to plug a bit more african and south american.
best american novel, to kill a mockingbird. by far.
janet frame from new zealand, what a beautiful soul.
just rediscovering john keats poetry, it is tattoed on my body, along iwth gerrad manly hopkins.
somerset maughum. proust. shakespeare. homer. dante. virgil. great batting line up don't you think?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

living in many different countries. mostly it has been spending time with great friends from all around the world in different countries. each year my family and i from little old NZ manage to meet up and have great fun in different countries all over the world. blows me away really.
oh, and i delivered puppies once.

Teach, Learn, Share

*read two great middle eastern authors - a wonderful lebanese author called Amin Malouf. great historical fiction mixed with eastern gentle philosophy.and naguib mahfouz, more beautiful poetic arabic writing.
*understand how gentle and kind Muslims can be, and their faults are what make them human. don't believe the tv version. these are extremists. understand what that means.
read as widely and as much as you can, read around issues from different points of view. be educated in your ideas!
realise that ancient greeks studied circles and triangles, then later mathematicians studied triangle IN circles, the ratio of which, when the angles are pited against the height, and sketched in a curve, predict precisely the waves of the ocean! how awesome is that! i will explain to you if you want.
