About Me

CURRENT MISSION

.... to travel by bicycle from the north of Norway to Portugal

ABOUT ME

I'm fifty a single dad of two who have now left University and my son is working in London and my daughter in France. I'm eclectic in my interests liking music as varied as opera to rock to English country music. I like to ceildh dance (two left feet :-), climb 'little' mountains, cycle and read. I don't have tv but like radio four and foreign films. Most of my time is spent outside especially in the summer and as such I'm also keen on WWOOFing too. In the past I have trained in massage and counselling, have worked for social services, been a community mediator and a counsellor at Broadmoor hospital. At the moment my spare time has been spent regenerating a local alotments where I've installed compost loos and a 'Pissoire'........ I am looking forward to starting my big cycle trip from the north of Norway to my girlfriends in Portugal ask me more.... Ana and I met through Couchsurfing when she met me for coffee and we ....fell in love :-)

PHILOSOPHY

in development, but again an eclectic mix of Existentialism, Hedonism and Humanism. Basically try to move through life in a creative way moving forward from Love and not fear, taking pleasure in the little things.....

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As I've said I'm very interested in community building and and CS seems a wonderful way of building international links. I've just joined my local group and.............hosted a CS group to the World Naked Bike Ride Day 2007/2008/9 in London. I'm a member of a number of groups and enjoy occassional CS group events. I have hosted and surfed with lots of wonderful people. Have attended concerts (opera classical, theatre) with fellow couchsurfers too. Oh! and I have hosted and surfed lots too..........

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have now hosted and surfed lots in various parts of the world from NZ and LA to London and 30 miles from my home too! , all lovely people, interesting and open....some great cooks too! also....... whilst hitching in the states I was put up at the local sherrifs home for three night and remain in contact years latter. I also used to manage a local camping barn and on a few occassions put up backpackers at my home whemn the barn was unavaiable..... have now hosted and surfed lots:-) From April 2011 I will be on a major cycle trip through Europe where I hope to meet lots of Couchsurfers....
