About Me

I go by “Woncho” and I’m a huge adventurer!

There's nothing better than pushing my personal boundaries and discovering new things and ideas.

People know me for my love of hitchhiking (links below).
I’m traveling solo and with friends to meet people and walk the earth like Caine from Kung Fu.

My idea of fun is throwing myself into random situations and figuring my way out of them.

-At 18, I voluntarily went homeless in Downtown Dallas and documenting about the experience, staying in homeless shelters and sleeping in random places
-I hitchhiked the 48 continental states by the age of 21
-Bought a 1-way ticket to Alaska and hitchhiked through 10 cities in North America (i.e. Canada, Detroit, Tijuana, NYC) on a scavenger hunt for $100,000 with my then girlfriend.
-Hitchhiked from Dallas and stayed NYC with only $60 in my pocket and came back with $160 three months later
-Couchsurfed nude in Brussels with my nude host (don’t worry I won’t be nude at your place)

Some of my favorite quotes:

“In the future, the great division will be between those who have trained themselves to handle these complexities and those who are overwhelmed by them -- those who can acquire skills and discipline their minds and those who are irrevocably distracted by all the media around them and can never focus enough to learn.”

“Think of it this way: There are two kinds of failure. The first comes from never trying out your ideas because you are afraid, or because you are waiting for the perfect time. This kind of failure you can never learn from, and such timidity will destroy you. The second kind comes from a bold and venturesome spirit. If you fail in this way, the hit that you take to your reputation is greatly outweighed by what you learn. Repeated failure will toughen your spirit and show you with absolute clarity how things must be done.”

"The gratification comes in the doing, not in the results"

"Study logic. Then break all the rules"

"Don't be afraid to be a fool. Remember, you cannot be both young and wise. Young people who pretend to be wise to the ways of the world are mostly just cynics. Cynicism masquerades as wisdom, but it is the farthest thing from it. Because cynics don't learn anything. Because cynicism is a self-imposed blindness, a rejection of the world because we are afraid it will hurt us or disappoint us. Cynics always say no. But saying yes begins things. Saying yes is how things grow. Saying yes leads to knowledge. "Yes" is for young people. So for as long as you have the strength to, say yes"
