About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Searching for happiness, ocasionally finding it too!

ABOUT ME

I'm a 50-something guy just working and traveling and trying to have a good time. My roots are in Salt Lake City, although most of my family has moved to California.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm developing a personal philosophy. Until it's ready, does any one mind if I just use yours? I'm a live and let live kind of guy, as long as you're not hurting anyone.

One question for the universe; Do all who practice Thai chi, have to drink Chi Tea?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted surfers, and surfed a few couches now, so I can see both sides.

Interests

For some reason I'm drawn to Latin America. Maybe it's the proximity to the States. I've surfed couches in Europe and had a blast.

I used to like fishing, but I don't go very often any more. I used to like golf and ski, but I don't do that much any more.

I've always liked drinking beer, and it's funny, but that's one thing I've stuck with!

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not a big reader, and I don't live for music. I like the 80's stuff and what's on the radio now. I'm not a fan of Rap or Hip Hop, but don't care if you are.

I like movies but don't get to see them much these days, too busy working. That's weird I guess, as I work in the film business.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I climbed a volcano in Guatemala, peered over the edge and the next thing I knew it was launching glowing red rocks over my head and they were raining down all around. As I ran for safety, I was dodging not only flying magma, but red hot rocks landing on the ground, and try not to step on them as I fled. That was exciting!

Teach, Learn, Share

Some day I want to retire to Mexico, or maybe Guatemala. I admire the laid back lifestyle. I took a class and got my ESL teaching certificate, but haven't put it to use yet.

I know a lot about Salt Lake City, so if you've got questions just ask. I'm not Mormon, but my Grandparents were, and I know a lot about the "strange customs" so if you have any questions, just ask!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Oatmeal in the morning, beer in the evening.
