About Me

People say I'm a bit shy at first approach, and it's true I don't talk much, because I prefer to listen.
But after I learned enough, I quickly become at ease and communicate frankly with who want to listen, comprehending other's ideas as well as putting mines forward.
Besides, I'm quite playful and am always ok for doing anything that can be fun, as long as it doesn't cause any harm.

(removed my cool binary-style text ID picture of my eyes cause this website doesn't interpret HTML in descriptions anymore)

*PHILOSOPHY*

Life is a game.

Only one rule :

"Don't do to the others what you wouldn't like they do to you..."

Of course, this declines to :

"Do to the others what you'd like they do to you..."

This leads to a hedonism of a refined sort, where one's looking to please himself AND the others without causing any harm, in opposition to the vulgar sort where one's only looking for its sole selfish pleasure.
Simplified Philosophy
«Casse pas la tête, mec !»
(«Ain't sweat it out, dude!»)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meetings, hosting, partying, drinking, traveling, surfing, drinking, exploring, partying, drinking.

Interests

I'm interested in computer science, especially application Development (more especially Java language, that's why my nick starts with Java ;). The computer does exactly what you told him, so when it doesn't work, it means you made a mistake and have to improve!
I'm very interested in Juggling too (see my nick ?), I've set up / participated in a few juggling shows and managed the juggling club of my secondary school for one year. Trying to control the props that only obey to the laws of physic AND your hands... So when they fall, it means you made a mistake and have to improve ;)
Third, I'm quite interested in Capoeira, a sport half-way between dance and martial art, where we usually don't touch the partner. There's some acrobatics in this sport (aerial or near the ground), so when you fall, you know what it means ! ;)... I've played it for 4-5 years, but too bad I "broke" my knee too often and have to put it aside for the moment, until I can find a new knee...
Then comes Music too. I learned piano when I was 14 and now play keyboard in an electronic-doom-gothic-psychedelic-glam-metal band (we'll have to found a new branch to classify our music, one day ;)
You can check our site, listen to us on our myspace or see what's going on on our active forum.
Other interests: nature, trees, stars (no, the ones that really shine...), caves / hidden places exploration, physics, electronics, mathematics
and some other stuff supposed to help you to understand the world... and feel the world...

Music, Movies, and Books

Books:
I fell in SF when I was young, with Ray Bradbury (the Martian Chronicles was my first SF book ever I think), then Isaac Asimov (I want to read all his books one day, even the scientific ones ! :p), then Franck Herbert, Arthur Clarke, Dan Simmons (have you heared of Hyperion ?), Anne Rice, err...
I was introduced quite early with other "mind-opening" books, like the ones from Rampa (hey, I was a little boy, I couldn't know), M. Morgan, A. David-Neel, Bernard Werber (almost all of them), Umberto Eco (Foucault's pendulum), Castaneda (almost all of them), Paulo Coehlo, James Redfield (La prophétie des Andes), err...
And in a more easy & funny style: Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Daniel Pennac, err...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

During a summer night, waking me & my neighbours up at 4am, peeking through the window and rushing by car a few kms out of the city lights, then laying back in the middle of a field and looking with awe at the rain..... of Shooting Stars :)
There was like 1 every 30 secs, some were so bright, some even changed direction!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach : Juggling of course!

Learn : Would like to learn about rather everything I can, to help me understand this world...
