ABOUT ME

I grew up in Latvia, lived in Australia, Melbourne for couple of years, went travelling the world, lived in London and now moved to Canada for couple of years.. I work office hours and go running, dancing, yoga in the evenings. Weekends are normally loaded with fun stuff, especially now in the summer. Feel free to say hello and join me.

As for myself..I would like to think that I am an outgoing adventurous person, quiet energetic and keen to discover and try out new things. I like meeting new people and share a laugh, a good talk or a warm hug! I enjoy learning about cultures and explaining mine. I enjoy being out in the nature, looking at the stars or walking in the city all night. Also, recently I discovered that I am a hippy. Peace! =)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hosted loads of people in Australia and Riga. Stayed on plentiful couches around the world and used to be active on couch surfing community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I love it!!! Have been hosting lots of amazing people as well as amazed by those who were kind to share their shelter with me. Thats is the only right way to travel.

Interests

I have plenty and they come and go with time.
I love travelling obviously and prefer active leisure time. I am trying to go snowboarding twice a season and figuring out how to get into kite-surfing here in UK. Cable boarding time after time and about to have a skateboard lesson too. So all things boardy and surfy.
Also into running and all thing fit, like triathlons and weightlifting. :)Also I am interested in environmental sustainability, renewable energy, organic farming, growing my own food, community building, vegetarism, yoga, spirituality, modern technology.
Making delicious food, drinking wine, stinky cheese.
Aside from that I love salsa (and any other social dance- swing, tango) and a little bit into photography.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music, books and movies. And keep looking for new ones to adore. The list is long, so here are some of favorites that i can remember on spot:

Movies: Amelie, Into the wild, most of Tarantino movies, Requim for a dream, Pianist, Life is beautiful, Snatch, Lock, Stock and two smoking barrels, Babel, Crash, Vannila Sky, City of Angels, Barfuss, Dancer in the dark, Knocking on heavens door,La lengua de las mariposas(Buterfly tongue), The Claymation movie. I love old ..and new :) french comedies! I love cartoons and fairy tales too! Especially with cookies and tea under warm blanket.

Music:...oh..almost everything- depending on the mood and situation. I love sharing some music from fellow couchsurfers, who are staying with me. So don't forget to bring some when staying!

Books- i love reading

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Kite surfed in Baltic sea, dived in red sea, surfed in Australia, skydived...hm... kissed under the rain..=)
Seen all the wild nature in australia- wombats (!!!!), roos, swam with sea lions..Crossed the Atlantic ocean on a sailboat. Swam in the middle of the Atlantic. Saw whales and dolphins. Snowboarded in Japan-pow..

Teach, Learn, Share

I would like to learn to play on some music instrument, I want to learn Spanish. To skateboard.

I can teach russian, i can teach how to be clumsy and spill coffees and wines on everything and anyone. I can teach salsa dancing. Also I can teach English and some photography.
