About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To make this world a better place, one chocolate bar at a time. ;)

ABOUT ME

After having spent 20 years in Rome, Italy, the feeling of safety, predictability and very easy life made me cut the cord and decide on a whim it's time to bring a challenge in my life and kick myself out of my comfort zone. I flipped a coin and the coin said: Berlin.I packed my dreams, my underwear and my record label and took them with me driving 1500 kilometers to my new home. As far as Berlin goes, I'm absolutely happy about my choice. Life is great!I'm writing my first novel. It's a story of a young man suffering a big loss in his life but chasing a mysterious package that hadn't been delivered to him in hope it contains answer to his questions. In a strange mix of mystery, passion, ideals and love he may discover what really matters in life.Even though I graduated the university of Rome in biology (animal behavior) I work as a language teacher and run a record company on my own. With a couple of friends I organize a monthly dinner that feeds homeless/poor people and give them the chance to hang out with ordinary folks and tell them their stories. I used to write for a few magazines, coach a female highschool basketball team, run an international basketball team in Rome (I now run one in Berlin) and publish a magazine on my own. I adore travelling (backpacking or letting my bike or my car carry me to distant places) music (mostly HC/Punk, but also Emo, Alternative, Rock, ...) and playing basketball. I love biking as means of transportation which means you won't see me in fancy spandex shorts with bike T-shirt and a messenger bag, but rather in my cargo pants, band t-shirt and carrying my Emergency strap-on bag. Being vegetarian is an important part of my personal philosophy and so is helping people. I wear my heart on my sleeve and I'm definitely always on the side of the underdog. "Did you promise the world that you'd change it? Sounds like the way that I feel One brick thrown, one vote alone won't take back everything they steal we'll take back everything they steal" "The Promise" - Strike Anywhere.

PHILOSOPHY

I like to be challenged. Same is nice, but variety is the key. Even though I prefer people with whom I share some of my interests (aren't we all here because we share interest in travelling) I feel confident if surrounded by people who think differently.
I am vegetarian, but love organizing barbecues. I don't drink alcohol but I hang out in pubs. I hate left wing dogma, but all my beliefs are on the left.
If we surrounded ourselves with people who think the same as we do, we'd never challenge our opinions and evolve.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed tons of couches and had plenty of people stay at my place. While I was in a band, I slept on people's couches, carpets, floors, beds and sofas pretty much every day. I had bands and friends over at my place a lot.
One night I was alone and homeless in London and was killing time in an internet cafè. Then out of the blue some guy sent me a message I could crash at his place. I was floored, but he told me I was a friend of his friend and therefore his friend as well. Things like that I'll never forget.
