About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Eager to keep exploring the planet and meeting new friends. There is no finish line!

ABOUT ME

I'm curious about what makes us tick and how we keep at it. Travel has been the best educator for me. Recently I was in Tbilisi for several months as advisor to Ministry of Environment on Protected Areas, aka national parks. In 2011, I sailed to the Azores from US. on 36 foot ketch. Spent fall 2012 in Kenya as economic development advisor.

The Discovery Channel is NOT how I learn about people. I believe nothing tops the educational importance of visiting face-to-face and seeing how others live.

I do strategic planning for non-profits, NGOs in undeveloped countries and USA.

PHILOSOPHY

We are here to make the planet a better place than we found it, and we only get one go-round.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am a busy volunteer in my community and beyond, giving of my time, resources, and collected experience to strengthen organizations and benefit others. I get together with other Couchsurfers whenever I can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'll be traveling the first half of 2016 and won't be able to accommodate guests.

I have learned so much from hosts and guests! More frequently a guest than a host, I look forward to paying it back.

Interests

Art, music, crafts, running, wine and food, hiking. Most importantly, people sharing tales of their families, work, country.

Music, Movies, and Books

I read new fiction and old classics. I enjoy French movies and independents. I'm a big music fan, everything from Bob Dylan to Wagner., with an enthusiasm for classic rock and roll.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking the entire Camino de Santiago de Campostella? The experience was very zen-like and enhanced my spiritual feelings.

Sailing a 36 foot ketch across the Atlantic.

Constructing an ecotourism plan for the Republic of Georgia.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a good listener, and willing to share my experiences. Comfortable with all ages.
Great with pets and kids. I've been a running coach and have raced in 15 Boston Marathons.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Conversation, modest cooking skills, running coaching.
