ABOUT ME

Ok, so I have realized that my profile is very long and I can't be bothered to edit it right now, so please don't feel like you have to read it all, I repeat myself in some places, and labour the point in others. I'm just a simple guy with passion for life, on a spiritual-nomadic journey that has taken me around the world... So here you have my patchwork quilt I've stitched together through words to try to give you a glimpse of me, and if we'd get on or not. Above all I am curious about most things and about all people, always, so don't think that I am some kind of extremist that only thinks that his way is the right way. Don't mistake the self-confident writing style of my profile as self-importance or self-absorption :) I am not like that at all. I accept all people as they are, and hope to learn from you.

Me: I am British by birth but live by the laws of no man or nation, being from Jersey, it's independent! But then I moved to Spain and lived there for 8 years. I then lived in India and have now moved on, so where does that leave me? LONDON. Anyway, I identify myself somewhere between a free spirit on a continuous adventure and a conscious artist of Life. I like to think that I am honest, fun, and inventive,... I am into the eternal path of creating a wonderful life whilst sharing the beauty of an already curiously perfect world. I am usually happy, except when I'm stuck in an airport - but astonishingly even that can be fun- I don't smoke but i do joke, and like to talk to people who like to listen...Ask me anything you like, that would probably be the best way to get to know me.
Update: I love theatre, juices and poetry, sunshine and comedy, springs, good cafe con leche (but make it oat milk cos it make mi' nose itchy), chocolate-cacao-superfoods, film and goji berries, dancing, trees, chillies, independent food, Goa, Ibiza! Barcelona!!!, fresh figs and yoga, bicycles, waves, raw food, wild food, slow food & good food (France I luv u), gardens, beaches, forests, caves, sculptures, land art, dynamite?, coconut juice, book-burnings (lol), dancing floors, duvets, freezing cold mornings when cars won't start (?) and people who don't know when to stop being passionate about a subject. That's just silly - or is it? Dare you host me on your couch or be hosted at mine???

Live, love and do what fills you with passion, because life is a mystery and what the world needs is more people who are doing JUST THAT.

Go jump in a spring on me!

PHILOSOPHY

Love yourself. Know yourself. Be. Give. Share. Cultivate a life that makes you smile. Is life truly about discovering who you are or contributing to others in a meaningful way or both or neither? Answers on a postcard please.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I tell everyone I meet what a great thing CS is. They generally believe me and the lucky ones go for it, and then they disappear off and then I get an email saying that they are canoeing in Thailand or doing South America or something foolhardy and I sigh with a smile and say to myself something about how life is there for the living... and the risk-taking and the sharing...
or maybe they signed up and then told their housemates and their housemates were freaked out by the idea of completely normal people staying with them in their flat and then they nearly fell out with them over it and so they did nothing with it... or maybe it caused them to have a personal life-changing reflection and they changed their home to a warmer one and that's life too...:)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfed across America in the summer with my brother. Lost my CS virginity in USA, What a ride!
Oh yeah and then there was Eugene...crazy Eugene... (and no, you Oregonians, that wasn't the town, it was a crazyman in a van hahaha I can laugh now but... but that was ridesharing on craigslist, we'll all think twice about doing that again hahaha I laugh now...I CAN laugh now...I DO laugh NOW!) Anyway 'twas a Wonderful adventure, met some great people, changed my idea of the world and particularly the US of A (wow, there are people like me there, and its not only like a film, baby!
Actually it was more Endless Confirmation that we are truly all connected. Yes, it is official, it has been confirmed by experts in the field.
CS is a fully functional expression of this truth.
Have hosted a fair few peeps now (millions) and I must say I especially love it when people are happy in themselves too - but the sun doesn't shine everyday and cloud come by and there might be rain or wind or cold so being yourself as-you-are is true, is honest, is bold.

Music, Movies, and Books

Films that come to mind: Thrive, Crossing the Event Horizon, The Mission, What the Bleep do we Know?, Paris Texas, Ashes to Snow, and countless more. I just saw Planet of the Apes - the original version again. Loved it.
Books: The Alchemist, Unveiling Reality, Evolve Your Brain, Down and Out in Paris and London, Ask and it is Given. Novels.
Music: World, some rock, acoustic, ethnic, latin, dance. All sorts really. Kings of Convenience, Penguin Cafe Orchestra, Iron and Wine, Gomez & loads more. Most music, but I find music with screaming in it a little hard on my sensibilities unless I personally feel like screaming myself.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Met with Noam Chomsky at MIT, Hung out with Joe Dispenza, protected LA Lakers from 34 Californian girls in a Barcelona Nightclub; Learning to speak fluent Spanish from scratch and finding I can speak Catalan and Portuguese too.
Emigrating to Spain.
A curious hummingbird wanted to be my friend, (or maybe pick my ear?) in San Francisco - watching its delicate body hovering in the air so close was inexplicably wonderful.
Got lost in the Himalayas, falling down a cliff, running like a lost baboon through the forest in desperation. Finally rescued by the only shepherds in miles and being invited to surf their ummm, "mud" in their little hut on the mountainside, being served delicious bamboo-shoot curry. Waking up to a goat pooing on my head, then seeing that a lamb had peed on my pillow: Funny day, really.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Painting and Drawing, Yoga, meditation, breathwork, healing arts, nutrition, creative writing, acting, clowning, thinking like a master. Search Engine Optimization. How to find a local spring and harvest living water.

Learn: Portuguese, Tango, web design, chocolate-making. How to become a millionaire starting from a donkey (or mule) and 5 raw carrots*.

Share: Independent Movie watching. Cookies. The sunshine on our garden terrace with a smoothie.

* Wild claims about future income are not intended to hypnotise you, do not constitute real earnings, and neither do the authors guarantee to trick you into paying for something that later turns out to be something that it didn't appear to be, thereby obfuscating the truth and hopefully cannot be traced back to 5 men with eastern european accents arguing over a table in an East End strip bar. (and entitling the authors or their partners to disappear without accountability, but you didn't read the small print did you?)

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, India, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Nepal, Poland, Portugal, Scotland, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

India, Spain
