À propos de moi

Most important? That my profile is massively outdated and I'm too lazy to change it...

CURRENT MISSION

Become the Zatoichi of the diving world?! (think blind skills, not so much the swords...)

ABOUT ME

How do I go about this? I... travel a lot. After a childhood of new homes, it's now in my blood. If anyone knows of a cure, let me know.

Oh and if you've made it this far, here's a bit to clear up any confusion- I'm Chinese, but also British, and I grew up in Japan. The Canada connection is due to my parents. At the moment I'm trying out "normal life" to see if I can hack it. And to see if I've been missing out on anything. Sorry to say, but nothing is telling me that so far. But maybe I should give it longer.

As for getting along with people, I can play the game and won't be a pain if you need your space, although I'm kind of a chameleon and am different things to different people. Well? I really can't be arsed with this bit...

Like to live and let live, and take things as they come. It's helped me survive thus far, plus it lets me get away with looking like Alfred E. Newman

PHILOSOPHY

Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back- that's pretty much my life. But I'm afraid my 9 lives are getting used up rather quickly...

I also believe in "Hold on tightly, let go lightly." You can't keep what you don't have anyway.

What, me worry? -Alfred E. Neuman

"That men do not learn very much from the lessons of history is the most important of all the lessons of history " - Aldous Huxley

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I try and see what I can do. Oh, and I like monitoring the flame wars in the sub-group forums. Pretty amusing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Stayed at Hagop's place in Beirut, various intensely interesting people in Russia, around Japan, Scotland, etc...in addition to hitchhiking and meeting random people all over N. America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

I think my first time couchsurfing was with an old lady I met at the airport in Graz, Arnie's hometown in Austria. But that was even before all this website business started.

One of my random couchsurfing stories would be in Mexico, where a young couple living on the beach invited me to basically just live with them for a couple of days(not through CS). It was really good just seeing how different people lived their lives... You know that Bon Jovi song "Livin' on a prayer"? Well, this couple were the Mexican Tommy and Gina! Hard lives, but lots of heart.

Centres d'intérêt

Hiking, windsurfing, skiing, canoeing, climbing. And books, whatever strikes my fancy. I really enjoy hitchhiking, but it's hard to find the time since it's so unpredictable.

And if traveling counts as an interest:

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

Immodium and Dioralyte will pretty much sort anything out...
Thomas the tank engine was right: if you THINK you can, you can.

Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes

Oh, you might be surprised... no, really. Then again there are always the host references.
