ABOUT ME

27 year old boy from Montreal who works in the environmental business mainly because it provides me the money I need to travel, buy cds and books, go to the movies and go out. It also give me a good excuse to abuse on coffee drinking every day! In my spare time, I also (try to) write film criticism (more about that here if you read french : http://www.cinemaniak.net/equipe/eloi-mayano-vinet/).

I like to thing that I can adapt myself to a lot of situation in the sense that I am as confortable talking about politics during 3 hours around coffee or tea as I am going out until 5 AM! From the fresh air of the Peruvian Andes to the coffee of downtown Seattle, with a live band in Memphis or a museum stop in Firenze on the way, I never fail to get back to my lovely home town to get the best smoked meat, poutine or beers in the world!

I have hosted a couple of travelers so far and I love to show them a couple of hidden secrets of Montreal. I don't expect anything from my guest except having a blast while they are in Montreal!

Interests

I am an art enthousiast first an foremost; I watch a lot of movies and listen to a vast variety of music style and I enjoy going to a lot of film festival and music concert. Somehow I manage to enjoy my self equally watching Apichatpong Weerasetakul's or Peter Greenaway's movies than watching the Naked Gun or American Pie 2, and I can bounce on 2pac one day and space out listening to Explosions in the Sky or rockin to the guitars of Foo Fighters the next one.

I also play bass guitar (and a bit of regular guitar, like every bassist because nobody's got a bass except them) and like to take pictures when I wonder in my or any city. Outside of art, I enjoy outdor sports (bike, hiking, skiing, etc.) a lot as well as anything related to social science, skateboarding (although it messed me up quite good in the old days) and american football (DA BEARS!).
