About Me

CURRENT MISSION

*I MOVED TO BEWELCOME.ORG*

ABOUT ME

Hey, Ever heard about the change of policies that happened in Couchsurfing? (at 2011) Do you know that this place used to be a non-profit organization? that people like myself were given a promise - That couchsurfing will always stay that way?

Well, that promise was broken, and based on some silly laws in the US, couchsurfing was sold to investors, and now it's a corporation with over $50 million dollars invested in it, and they are all in for the money - it's a for-profit corporation now. So I'm outta here. you can find me on BeWelcome.org, where the same thing can legally never happen.

PHILOSOPHY

I always looked for certainty / answers in life; In these days I don't believe that there is one objective truth, but there are good people, and I find myself more comfortable amongst them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I was hosting when I had my place in St. Kilda,
during that time I went to tons of CS events, They're always a lot of fun. I had organized quite a few CS parties (Birthday party, lan party, and three goodbye parties (leaving was difficult...) ) and many of my Melbournian friends are CSers.

Funny anecdote: I was listed in Emerald QLD as a host for three months when I was working there in a Cotton farm, and I got one request - after I left it already!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

two couchsurfers helped me fixing my motorcycle; I had an amazing couple couchsurfing with me and I hope we'll meet again one day; I went to a picnic and ended up having dinner with an ambassador's daughter and wearing 1200$ prada high heel shoes...; I had couchsurfers with other random drunk people making a 4 stories high human-pyramid at st Kilda's Festival... the list goes on.

Interests

to name a few hobbies
I was a RC (radio control) flier since I was 8 years old, I love the beach and any kind of surfing, I like biking and bought my first motorcycle in Australia (Klr 650 Tengai). I play inline-hockey (though the way we play it in Israel is a bit too aggressive for me).
I'm a computer geek, I love mechanical stuff so I loved playing with lego. (never stopped really)
I play the drums (set) and some guitar (just okay).
I like theater shows.
I (used to) volunteer as a medic. Used to volunteer (in my teen years) for the Israeli red cross, and lately for PHR - an open clinic for people without health insurance.

I was very active in a socialist youth movement until a few years ago, I'm interested in different political/ecological matters. (Lately I'm mostly slacking off about that)

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to funk, ska, latin music, rock, some hip-hop rap and many other genre (excluding trance and MTV/pop). To name a few artists: Cat Empire, Cat stevens, Elvis, the doors, Incubus, Gomez, Jack johnson, Ray Charles, J.viewz, Caravan Palace.
I read and I watch movies, and I don't have anything special to say about that.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I built stuff; an electronic drum kit, two surfboards, an inline skate chassis, two dysfunctional off road skateboards and recently two working off road skateboards...
inventing and creating is pretty much the meaning of my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach _anyone_ how to ride a bike, skates, etc. Even if you think you'd never be able to do it.
I can also teach computer skills, playing the drums, riding a unicycle and surfing, but all of these takes considerably longer to learn.
If it's broken I'll fix it.
I cook basic food but I'm a gifted dish washer. :)

I'd love someone to introduce me to paragliding...
I always like to learn new skills, the more complicated the better.
