About Me

The straightforward one liner:
Born and raised in Madrid, went to university in Scotland, worked for three years in Madrid, quit and travelled for 18 months, lived off the grid for a year, met my loved one, became a teacher, and just moved to London.

A more interesting story:
Finding what you want to do with your life is not easy. But I was told not to stress. By managing this piece of advice I found the fuel to take some risks and derail from the beaten track. This encouraged me to go aborad for university, and then to quit my logistics technician career to simply travel. And I loved travelling. I became a hitch-hiker of sorts who spent four years interchanging the road with an off the grid lifestyle. Hours were spent reading, playing the guitar, singing, building an environmental center, making movies, and teaching. And it was teaching that ended up becoming the activity I would throw myself into. It was during this time that I met my beloved girl friend, who know shares her life with me. We like to enjoy the pleasures of good food, long walks, and many a long conversation over almost any topic. And we love to share this with joy with pretty much anyone.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I discovered CS while on the road in 2007. I quickly became a very regular user. It took me a while to start hosting, but I did end up hosting a fair amount of people. I can't say for sure what my karma count is like this days, and to be fair, quite a few couchsurfers simply became friends who would come over and stay anyways! (and I hope they come again!).

When I became a full time teacher in 2012, I started to live in the city and quite frankly having very little time to travel or host. Sadly, I started to get disconnected from the couchsurfing world. It was also a time of change for CS, and I felt like it was time to move on. It took me around 5 years to look back in! Yet here I am again!

The main reason behind connecting once more has been a recent move to London. New city, new plans! I'm hoping that we'll get to do some more travelling, and perhaps even some hosting. I am looking forward to find out how couchsurfing has changed!

I like how couchsurfing turns travelling into something about people, not something about places.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Cycling, hitchhiking, living in the city and the countryside. I've been run over by a bus, I have played and sang in Chinese television. But the most important thing I believe I have done, by far, is inspiring young people to grow and become the best people they possibly can. Encourage them to be ambitious with their dreams, to observe the world around them and learn how to care for others. This is my way to fight for a better world.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a teacher! I can help you repair a bike, help you with education decisions or simply teach mathematics.
