About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Living in the here and now

ABOUT ME

I grew up in a small village close to the polish border, spend an exchange year in the US, worked as a computer scientist programming PDAs, went to university in Potsdam, spend a semester abroad in Portugal and am now a psychologist. And yes! I'm able to look through your eyes and see who you really are ;-)

PHILOSOPHY

haven't figured it out yet

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have only met a couple of people for a drink, asking them "holes in the stomach" as you would say in german. And these turned out to be that kind of pearls that everyone is looking for while visiting a foreign country.

Interests

I'm curious about everything.

I love photography. I can be very patient by scanning for beautiful details in nature, that everyone else is just walking by.

I have a driver's license for sailing. I love everything that has to do with water and doesn't make too much of sound. Some day I'm going to learn how to paraglide.

I'm also learning how to play guitar. I already play some piano but that's nothing compared to singing stupid songs when you're drunk while sitting at the bonfire.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't have a favourite music, as it always depends on which mood I am. Most of the time though, I rather listen to Singer/Songwriter). But then someday, you might also hear some old song by Moby playing really loud in my room.I actually really enjoy the modern german music. It's just amazing how the repertory increased in the last 10 years. If you want to listen to some I recommend http://tvnoir.de/ - there you'll find loads of good german musicians - some of them are known as the "new german poets" (Clueso, Bosse, Marteria, Philipp Poisel, Wir sind Helden, Max Prosa).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being in New York by the age of starry-eyed 16 and being able to walk between and up the twin towers.

Listened to the overwhelming tinny sound of frogs while sitting in a boat on a branch of the Amazonas in the middle of the night with all flashlights turned off.

Got a swedish massage at Batangas beach in a honymoon bed - with the sound of waves in the ear.

Played the tear jerker "My Heart Will Go On" on the piano accompanied by an american line-dance band in the middle of nowhere (Missouri).

Went with my grandma from Brasil to Argentina by public transportation to visit the other site of the waterfalls from Iguazu without knowing one word in portugese or spanish.

Had a picnic with regional cheese, bread and vegetables underneath an fully bloomed almond tree at a lonely road along the Douro River/Portugal.

Leaned against a trunk of a tree in Sanssouci, listened to Nick Drake and catched sunrays (I try doing this whenever there's time).

Teach, Learn, Share

singing traditional songs with you on the guitar, cooking interesting food, having a photoshoot in the park (I already did some good portraits of my friends there), we could go sailing on the lakes around Potsdam or just kayaking/canoeing.

Countries I’ve Visited
