ABOUT ME

I'm from Lincoln, Nebraska, USA. But I've also lived in Washington, DC and Maine -- and traveled through India, Bhutan, all over South America, Cuba and Ukraine.

I've worked in radio journalism and construction, as a co-owner of a dog-walking collective, a baker, farm apprentice, caviar-maker/fish-gut-er, and most recently science writer, documentarian and teller of rural stories.

I went to graduate school (fall 2011-spring 2012) for Agroecology at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences. I was a Fulbright Scholar in Chile in 2013, working with beekeepers on a project to initiate api-tourism and bring attention to honey varietals.

I just returned from two years in the Peace Corps in Nicaragua and a hiatus from Couchsurfing. I am new to Ann Arbor, MI but may be able to host you depending on your needs and dates!

Hola! Soy de Lincoln, Nebraska -- en el centro de los EEUU. Pero también he vivido y viajado por diversos lugares -- India, Bután, mucho del América del Sur, Cuba y Ucrania.

He trabajado como periodista de radio, en la construcción, co-propietario de una cooperativa de "paseo de perro"/dog-walking, panadero, granjera, trabajé en una salmonera en el sur de Chile -- y la más reciente como documentalista de video y escritora.

Hizé mi maestría en Agroecología en Noruega. Actualmente, a partir del primero de marzo, estoy en Chile como becaria Fulbright. Estoy hiciendo un trabajo de campo para mi tesis con apicultores pequeños. Tiene que ver con la resilencia de diferentes sistemas sociales-ecologicas. Espero que consumir una grand cantidad de miel!

Mi investigación se basa en la región Bio Bio, pero también estoy viajando con las temporadas y las actividades apícolas.

Además soy una gran entusiasta de la bicicleta. Hace cinco años mis mejores amigas y yo fuimos en bici de Washington, DC a Canadá trabajando con pequeños agricultores y hicimos una documental http://womensgardencycles.wordpress.com

Soy super tranquila -- Me encanta levantarme temprano, correr, la meditación, y tai chi. También me encanta los jardines, las plantas y la naturaleza. No me gustan mucho los bares -- pero me encantaría compartir una copa de vino contigo.
