About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Working and learning so I can go marauding across the globe once more...

ABOUT ME

I'm 32, now living in Montréal after moving across the country a couple years ago. I never seem to do things the "usual" way, which helps to explain a lot about me. I grew up in a small town in British Columbia, surrounded by nature and the outdoors. I studied Forestry in university, but work for a bank full-time.

Check out all the nice things I paid other people to say about me and my groups to learn more...or just come visit and see for yourself! :)

PHILOSOPHY

What is this philosophy you speak of?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Send me couch requests and/or other fun questions, and I'll try to accommodate you :) I had a great time while in Europe, surfing with lots of fantastic people, many of whom I still keep in contact with and consider good friends, and I'd love to pass the goodwill along, so to speak. As for spreading the word, I tell people who I think might benefit/be interested about CS and how it's the greatest thing since sliced bread.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couchsurfing experience was in Stockholm, October, 2007. My host, Mikael, was fantastic, and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. Although I haven't couchsurfed in a while, I still have great memories of my experiences, and in general, Couchsurfing has restored my faith in humanity :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: any one that makes me cry, particularly romantic comedies. Yes, I'm a big baby and total sap.

Music: enjoy most types, especially lounge/vocal house music with a great diva singing her heart out. Also like to listen to classic 80s hits to bring me back to my childhood.

Books: the ones that make me laugh and the ones that make me think. I particularly enjoy travel novels.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelling around Europe and living in Paris, seeing all the sights that I had only read about in social studies text books back in high school.

Various others, like being bitten by a dog in a town with no hospital; running three marathons; swimming unknowingly with a dolphin in the open ocean; jumping off a jetty; sailing; hiking to the tops of mountains; drinking water from a glacier; seeing various large mammals up close and personal...those are all that come to mind at the moment. Always eager to expand this list and my horizons.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I can teach you how to make rice. In a pot. Without a rice cooker. And then how to use chopsticks the proper way to eat it all, grain by tiny grain... Or I can help you with your English or a bit with your French (although my help with that will be limited).

Learn: I like to learn languages, especially stuff that might come in handy if I'm looking for a toilet in a foreign land.

Share: I share most things, unless it's something that I really enjoy eating.
