ABOUT ME
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did so. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
(by Mark Twain)
I try to live my life, not to dream it.
My worldtrip was:
One year without working and not stocked in our âÃâ¬ÃÅsystemâÃâ¬ÃÂ, 274 days travelling, 19 countries on 5 continents, over 10,000 photographs, in 150+ hours on planes once around the globe and crossed all oceans, several rental cars, busses, trains, motorcycles and even bikes used as a means of transportation, from $1/per night accommodations to a nice treat in a five star hotel, accidents, breakdowns and several critical situations didnÃâôt fail to appear, meeting with dozens for me more or less well known fascinating animals on land, water and in the air - especially on the Galapagos islands.
I only got robbed once, got really ill once and got once an inflammation. As a vegetarian I have eaten meat once and upset my stomach once.
I have seen so many wonderful, beautiful and unforgettable places on my world trip.
Highlights of my world trip have been the Uluru (Ayers Rock), the IguaÃÆçu Waterfalls in Argentina, the Cristo Redentor (Christos figure) and PÃÆão de AÃÆçÃÆúcar (Sugar hill) of Rio, JordaniansâÃâ¬Ã⢠Petra und Dead Sea, New ZealandâÃâ¬Ãâ¢s incomparable nature and the landing on the glacier Mount Cook, MexicoâÃâ¬Ãâ¢s Maya temple, Americas Death Valley and Grand Canyon, the rock jumper of Acapulco, Costa RicaâÃâ¬Ãâ¢s rainforest, the heavenly South Sea Islands and not to forget the Galapagos Islands.
And lots of incomparable cities!! -
In which my favorite cities are certainly: San Francisco, New York and Buenos Aires!
I hope this description gave you a taste of the trip and my experiences along the way. I don't think it could ever do justice to what I saw unless you've seen it through your own eyes. This trip was truly a life altering experience.
Conclusion of my worldtrip
I feel my world trip with all the unforgettable experiences as a gift. In retrospect, it seems like this could have been the smartest decision of my life to go on this word trip.
Now, I miss the simple, non-materialistic life I had while traveling. It was so nice to not use my cell phone. Overall, I was unbelievably happy with this trip. It was educational in so many ways for me and truly an eye-opener in many different ways as well. I LOVED meeting new people in all the countries I visited all over the world. It was so fascinating to learn about their lives and different cultures.
I have never before felt such satisfaction and contentment.
There are so many simple moments that I can remember, moments that were just a piece of time which brought and still brings a smile, a sigh and that warm feeling that so easily relaxes me, enriching experiences that are immeasurable and invaluable. They are mine to have for always, to take with me into my daydreams and future endeavors. It will forever be tucked in the forefront of my mind. I have experienced things that many never will. I will be forever grateful for this.
It will keep me âÃâ¬ÃÅaliveâÃâ¬Ã and young and it will allow me to dream.
No doubt, I will do this again one day!
