Born here and just retired here from USA where I hosted for many years and come back to continue the same. But you must be a VERIFIED MEMBER before to host you.
Please notify me at least three weeks in advance to verify your stay here and hopefully you'll stay a few days. I do not drive but most CouchSurfers hitch a ride but there's good transport as I use it all the time. I prefer quiet visitors and no loud music and the main doors here are locked at 11pm unless I am out with you and that's a seldom occasion. No Smoking inside please and STRICTLY NO PETS....
I'm still very interested in Hosting the CouchSurfing and welcome you to visit Donegal and the Ardara area. If your driving just fine as I do not drive at all but I get around. I enjoy playing your guide to the area.

I've met some of the most wonderful people here on CouchSurfing from all corners of the world but leaning more on Europe since that's where I was born not necessarly Ireland!
I'll only accept those who's address, phone and payment are verified and have more than five photographs on their profile page. If your part of a group please specify who is traveling with you and include their profile with photographs.

I look for members with references, you must have at least four photographs in your profile with good exposure! as so many are dull and out of focus!
Many do not reply when I offer to host. There's others who would love to stay here so please try to reply to host's and let them know if you accept or deny!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To help others especially students and elders to find reasonable accommodation but I ask that you place your request weeks in advance before your arrival and that you meet my standards.
You must have at least four up close photographs of yourself that are easily visibleI ask that you have your address, phone etc verified.
I Do Not host local individuals.
If there's more than one person in your group then I want to see a few pic's of him/her too.
Tell how your mode of travel to Chicago and the times of arrival and departure and if it's by Air, Train or Bus.
Check-in time after 10am and before sunset.

So, Get Verified!
I prefer someone that will be visiting this area for the first time.
Ask that you have at least five/six photographs in your profile
they have to be clear and bright and not dark and fuzzy
stay a minimum of three days if possible
Bring your camera and good walking shoes

Have always loved to show Chicago to first time visitors

No pet's or children. No loud music, you may visit local pubs but the front door here locks up at 11 pm and if sightseeing next day you'll want a good nights sleep (always advisable.)
No Exceptions!!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've done many things to raise money-
Hiking the Pilgrims Train to Santiago de Compstella in Spain
200 miles. Done it in 1998 and again in 1999 and raised $38,000.
Hiked The Grand Canyon in 2010 raising $23,000-

Done 7.5 marathons for the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago R.I.C. between the years 2011 and 2015 while raising $105,000:00 for kids and adults with physical disability and doing it was The Best Thing You Could Ever Do because your helping those less fortunate.
Done 16.5 marathons in 12 years until ...... I'll tell you what stopped me during your visit

Done 16 marathons between 2001 and 2015 with 3 years off in between due to a bicycle injury in 2002 in Ireland.
I've raised $500,000:00 all for Charitable groups with new plans being worked out
