Hi!

My name is Anna, I'm from Latvia, but been nomadic for the last 3 years. I usually spend 2-6 months in one place. I'm very passionate about human potential and I dream of living in a world where emotional intelligence is taught at school. I spend a lot of time thinking how can I contribute to building something that leaves positive impact in the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Back in 2011 I was a international music management student in Haarlem, The Netherlands. I had a really hard time finding a place to live and I had to move out of my current place, so I went on CS and wrote to someone and asked if I could crash on his couch for couple of nights until I sort things out. Little did I know that this guy (alongside with many other people) lived in a squatted house (which in NL is legal or at least was at that time). A few nights turned into a few years. We were around 20 people living across 6-7 houses on that street. We hosted tons of couchsurfers, some of which stayed for a long time, we also started a band that became semi-famous in the streets of Haarlem, built a skatepark in the backyard, cooked big dinners for all neighbours, hosted jam nights, squatted bunch of other houses, hacked neighbour's internet network as well as illegally (and now thinking about it – pretty dangerously) connected to the gas supply to heat our houses. Good times.

I'm very interested in psychology and human behavior. Currently exploring collective unconscious. I'm reading a book about Greek Goddesses and how they live within the modern woman these days.
